It is only once in a millennium that such an extraordinary man not only exists, but touches the WWE Universe in a way that no one else will ever be able to do again. He is The Game, and the greatest human being to ever wrestle. Over the last decade this man has captivated the wrestling world with his immense level of talent as well as heart.

He is a man who always did the right thing and climbed to the top of the WWE mountain through hard work, passion and a willingness to look out for the future of this industry. Today have returned to do the world a favor and make the case as to why he is not only the greatest of all time but why he deserves that reserved wing in that said hall of fame just to contain a man of his excellence and grandeur.

“It is an article that only comes, Once…In a Lifetime.” - James Earl Jones…(well not really)

Playing the Game - Press X to Start

Triple H would first set foot in a WWE ring on April 30th, 1995 debuting as the “Connecticut Blueblood” Hunter Hearst Helmsley. (Wait, “Hunter Hearst Helmsley”. I get it now, that is freaking awesome). Continuing, HHH would debut and immediately take the WWE by storm as he was seemingly one of the most over wrestlers from the start of his WWE career. For the first year of his career HHH would be quite humble as he participated in menial feuds before facing the Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania 12. It was of the belief that his inevitable victory over the Warrior would launch Helmsley into main event status overnight. However that would not happen as HHH would do the unselfish thing and throw The Ultimate Warrior a bone and do the job for him in less that 2 minutes.

What a great guy HHH was that night. Rather than defeat The Warrior as he should have, he allowed the over the hill, past his prime former mega star of “the 80’s” one last chance at relevancy by putting him over to look like he’s still “got it” and that was the first time we truly saw how professional this great man really is. Another act of unselfishness would come soon after as despite him being billed to win the King of the Ring in 1996, he would give up that opportunity to put Steve Austin over, who’s momentum had been considerably declining in recent months. In hindsight, it’s safe to say HHH made “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. I know, the dirt sheets would have you believe he didn’t win that night because of the “Curtain Call Incident” but no one’s ever proven that, right?

Kliqs, Degenerates & The Corporation

HHH would spend the first part of his career the WWE as a member of the Kliq along with Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean Waltman. But much like The Rock as a part of the Nation of Domination, it was crystal clear that HHH was the best of the group. As great as those other guys were, HHH was just THAT…DAMN…superior. As the years went by Helmsley would become an innovator as he would take the concept of a faction and make it revolutionary. You know what I’m talkin about, I’m talking D-Generation X. Triple H and Shawn Michaels, along with Chyna and Rick Rude would become the founding members of the most revolutionary faction of the Attitude Era.

It would only become a matter of time before HHH would take over the group as HBK would go down with a back injury. I mean it’s a given that HHH would have taken over eventually b/c he shouldn’t be taking a back seat to the likes of Shawn Michaels but I guess this was the easy way out for HBK, unlike Hunter he actually has reservations when it comes to putting people over. HHH would take that group to new heights the likes of which HBK could never even dream of as he brought in new members (X-Pac, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) before making the Nation of Domination famous and in turn making The Rock famous by feuding with his overlooked faction in 1998 (So basically HHH made The Rock too).

HHH would follow up by facing the Rock in a ladder match at Summerslam in 1998 and surpassing anything his former partner HBK had ever done with a ladder that night as he stole the show and had the greatest ladder match in WWE history up to that point (that was before HHH would take on Kevin Nash at TLC 2011 of course, sorry for the spoiler but it had to be said.) By the time Wrestlemania 15 rolled around HHH shocked the fans as both he and Chyna turned on DX and became a part of Vince Mcmahon’s Corporation. To no surprise, much like DX and the Kliq he was the crown jewel of that faction as well when he finally won his first WWE championship on the August 23rd edition of Monday Night Raw by defeating Mankind.

The Perfect Husband & The Perfect Champion

HHH had become a main stay in the main event by fall of 1999 as he would win his 2nd WWE championship and have a brief feud with The Big Show, putting him over in the process as he dropped the championship to him at The Survivor Series that year and making Big Show the WWE champion. Soon after HHH would reveal to the world that on a cold night in Las Vegas, Nevada he made Stephanie Mcmahon the happiest woman in the world as the two would embark in the most beautiful drive through chapel weddings in wrestling history. For the next two years we would embark on quite possibly the greatest time in pro wrestling known as “The Mcmahon-Helmsley Era”.

HHH would go on to capture multiple championship reigns as well as become a PPV main event mainstay as he carried superstars like The Rock, Stone Cold, The Undertaker and Mick Foley in numerous PPV encounters including a victory and successful championship at Wrestlemania 2000 over The Rock, Foley and Big Show. Everything was looking up for HHH as his status as a future WWE Hall of Famer was already written in stone by this point. He would later align himself with Stone Cold Steve Austin as both men would go on to capture The WWE Tag Team Titles, as well as the Intercontinental and WWE titles. They would dominate the main event scene for a few months before HHH would go down with an injury as he tore his left quad on the May 21st edition of Raw in 2001.

The Comeback & The Evolution

HHH would return on January 7th, 2002 in Madison Square Garden to an ovation that would rival that of The Pope. He would go on to win The Royal Rumble as well as defeat Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania X8 later that year. As the years went by HHH would become the biggest star in not just Monday Night Raw, but of the entire WWE as he would carry the Raw brand on his back for the next 6 years. In his time he would go onto have classic bouts as he defended his World Heavyweight Championship for the majority of 2002-2005. HHH would continue to perfect his craft as he became the next showstopper, dethroning the great HBK at Armageddon 2002 and facing Superstars like Kane, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash and Bill Goldberg. Successful title defenses over each and every one of them as well as another title win in the process.

But of course HHH is more than just a conqueror, he is an innovator and a visionary. And that would not be more evident than when he created and led yet another great faction known as Evolution. The group would feature wrestling legend Ric Flair, and soon to be world champions Randy Orton and Batista. The group would dominate Raw for nearly two years as both Orton and Batista would break away from the group. Luckily HHH was there to rescue the World Heavyweight Championship away from Orton in 2004 and dominate for the remainder of the year as champion before backing the winning horse in Dave Batista at Wrestlemania 21 for unselfish act #127. HHH would find more success with Evolution than he did DX as he created two future stars while at the same time keeping Ric Flair in the land of relevancy (#128).

Once A Degenerate, Always a Degenerate. Leaving a Legacy.

It was 2006, Shawn Michaels was noticeably falling into a rut. He was in the midst of a hot feud with Vince and Shane Mcmahon and simply could not hang with that great family. So what does HHH do? He puts aside his championship aspirations and rejuvenates HBK’s dwindling career as on June 12 DX would reform and they would become even better than ever b/c this time it was clear that HHH was the nucleus of the team. It was only until HHH got involved that defeating the Mcmahon’s became the norm and DX would continue to defeat them both with a high success rate. The team would eventually move onto feuding with Rated RKO (Edge & Randy Orton) putting them over nicely at Cyber Sunday before destroying the team at New Year’s Revolution in 2007.

However being the selfless man that he is, HHH would sacrifice himself for the good of the team (something HBK would never do) and become injured in the process as he would tear his quadriceps for the second time in his career. Without HHH of course it was evident that this new DX wouldn’t last much longer as HBK couldn’t carry the load as it fell apart in the months that followed. HHH would find himself out of action again for another 8 months before saving the WWE once again and returning at Summerslam in 2007 as he made short work of King Booker as he symbolically handed him his release papers that night in the form of a pedigree.

However, that would not be his grandest accomplishment upon his return. At No Mercy later that year HHH would once again have to carry the load as he pulled “Triple Duty” facing Umaga as well as Randy Orton twice in one night. Not many superstars would be able to wrestle 3 high profile matches in one night, but as you know HHH isn’t just another superstar. That night he was THE superstar as he made Orton look like a star once again as he dropped the championship to him in a brutal Last Man Standing Match. Unfortunately we would be put through hell for the next several months with Orton as champion before HHH would eventually defeat him at Backlash 2008 and became a 12 time World Champion.

It was at this point that The Game had reached legendary status.

Still Going Strong

As the years continued, HHH would be involved in some of the most must see television WWE has ever produced. He would carry the B show Smackdown for a short period from 2008-2009 as that brand’s champion before putting over the next big star in Jeff Hardy. He would later enter and win yet another Elimination Chamber match and his 13th world title in the process. He would feud with Randy Orton once again, taking their rivalry to legendary heights before reforming D-Generation X alongside then kitchen chef Shawn Michaels. The two would spend their final run together humbling the brash young arrogant tag team of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase before taking DX to even greater heights with the addition of Hornswoggle as the DX mascot.

When 2010 rolled around it was evident that HHH had achieved more than anyone in the company’s history and it was time to take on an even greater role as a WWE executive. HHH was gone for months, and months before he returned on 2/21/11 and challenged The Undertaker for Wrestlemania 27. The Undertaker accepted and off to the races we went as both men would put on a classic in which while The Undertaker was the victor on paper, the fact that he had to be carried out of that arena tells me that HHH was the true winner of that match. To me, the streak ended on April 3rd, 2011 but of course HHH couldn’t do that to The Undertaker. The streak is the Undertaker’s only claim to fame & as we’ve established HHH would never take away from another just to make himself look good in the process.

Triple H would take an on camera role as WWE’s Chief Operating Officer in the latter half of 2011 bringing professionalism back to authority figures in pro wrestling. And once again HHH would come back to do good business for the company. CM Punk was walking around like he owned the place in the summer of 2011 and quite frankly HHH knew that he wasn’t ready. And that’s why at Night Of Champions 2011 in a non title match, HHH defeated CM Punk. Upon Kevin Nash’s return around that same time period HHH would become enthralled in one of the most emotional and heartbreaking storylines of all time. In 2011 Kevin Nash would break The Game’s heart and throw a 15+ year long friendship out the window. And at TLC 2011, HHH would carry Kevin Nash to a phenomenal ladder match and make Big Daddy Cool famous once again for the first time since the nWo days.

The End of an Era & Swan Song

Wrestlemania 28. The Rematch. Undertaker vs HHH. Hell In a Cell.

The Undertaker would go on to face HHH once again, this time in a Hell in a Cell match to put his imaginary streak on the line (we’ve established it ended last year). Luckily for The Undertaker despite his old age and hair loss HHH managed to carry the Deadman to yet another classic bout and one of the greatest matches in the history of Wrestlemania. While The Undertaker may have won (I blame Shawn Michaels’ bad officiating), it was clear that the Game stole the show.

Upon Brock Lesnar’s return to the WWE it was evident that HHH had to be called in once again to stop this renegade. However at Summerslam 2012, HHH would lose to Brock Lesnar as The Game did the right thing and put over this man despite his poor promo skills. Lesnar could never pull off “I love you pop” the way a man like HHH did. However HHH has nothing to be ashamed of, he could have retired the day he debuted and still made the case for why he is the greatest of all time, but NO he went on to have a legendary 17 year career within the WWE and has earned his own wing the WWE Hall of Fame.

Conclusion

Triple H has done more for this business than all the Rock’s, the Hogan’s, the Austin’s, Taker’s, HBK’s, Flair’s, you name them he’s done more than all of them combined. He truly is the miracle that WWE needed at a time when the company was on the brink of extinction. HHH was the catalyst of the Attitude Era and every other era that would follow it as he single-handedly put WCW out of business and drew the highest ratings in wrestling. He has starred in blockbuster films, and has put on the greatest matches, promos and moments than anyone else can ever dream of doing, and in marrying Stephanie he has ensured the security and the prosperity of the WWE going forward.

He truly is The King of Kings, we love you Hunter. Triple H for WWE Chairman!!!!

Thank You Paul Michael Levesque, you truly are the Greatest Game Ever Played.

The reason The Rock doesn’t is because someone wrote his material for him and he’s got it memorised.

Being billed as the 25th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble (which you and I know is complete crap) this match will revert back to 30 participants being featured as opposed to last years 40 participant experiment. One of the things that always begins to stir around this time especially within the IWC is speculation as to who is going to win this match and head to Wrestlemania for a shot at becoming world champion. Now there are always those who will throw out ridiculous names just for laughs and or to troll, there are those who go with the obvious picks and just go with guys like John Cena and/or Randy Orton, and then there are those who analyze the way certain people have been booked in the weeks heading into the PPV and really look closely to build up a logical or even possible list of people who actually appear they have even a snowballs chance of winning this match. You can all obviously see where I’m going with this so let’s not waste any further time and get down to it.

Ladies and Gentlemen this is where I present to you two lists. Let’s begin with Number 1.

Analyzing Front Runners Who Actually have a chance at winning the Royal Rumble Match.

1. Chris Jericho

If you aren’t a gambler the safe bet heading into this Sunday would have to be none other than Chris Jericho. Fresh of a very hyped up return he would return giving us not words but overjoy, tears and abandonment. Many people stood in watch scratching their heads at Chris Jericho’s behavior b/c it did not fit in the context of the cryptic world ending promos that aired for weeks hyping his return, while others new his game completely and realized this is misdirection. However that would all change as this Monday he would finally utter his first words and once again they did not fit within his most recent behavior Chris Jericho’s overjoy would come to an end as he utters the words and only these words “This Sunday at the Royal Rumble, it’s gonna be the end of the world as you know it.” Finally Chris Jericho resembles the messages of the promos that touted his arrival and once again people are confused by this. Where I see it Chris Jericho pretty much just told us all he is winning this match and while this may be once again another form of misdirection and he may have something else up his sleeve, the safe bet remains Chris Jericho. And where as some people may say he won’t win b/c he has no build or no match wins I beg to differ. He’s Chris Jericho he doesn’t need all that he’s got the most important thing heading into this match and that is hype.

2. Randy Orton

As much as it pain’s me to say it Randy Orton would definitely be in anyone’s top 5 list of men most likely to win the 2012 Royal Rumble, and in some of those lists he would take the top spot. Let’s break this down Randy Orton for one is a legitimate Main Event superstar, but in the past few weeks he has been no where to be seen. After being written off television to nurse a few nagging injuries weeks ago Randy Orton will return to Smackdown this Friday Night and will more than likely solidify himself as a front runner. Some people also say he has no build or even any major hype the way Jericho has but if there’s one thing realistically in WWE than can trump that it would have to be a comeback storyline. Randy Orton will be heading into the Royal Rumble in his hometown of St. Louis and although WWE has a track record of never putting people over in their hometowns Randy Orton can just as easily be the exception to the rule as he has some stroke behind the scenes and is one of WWE’s golden boys. He wouldn’t be my choice b/c quite frankly him winning this match would feel very anticlimactic but then again I’m not backstage in order to make sure it doesn’t happen. Whether you like it or you don’t like it Orton would definitely be in anyone’s list on possible Rumble winners because of his main event status, comeback and b/c honestly it’s hard seeing him not back in the world title picture by Wrestlemania 28.

3. Sheamus

While some may ask “What the hell is Sheamus doing as number three?” I would merely respond by saying he may be a dark horse (can’t believe I’m using the word “dark” when talking about Sheamus) but he’s one of the best dark horses WWE has ever had in the last few years. Ever since Christian went down due to injury, with it went Sheamus’ current feud. And since then Sheamus has done nothing but beat up a bunch of jobbers whether it be Heath Slater or that goddamn feud with Jinder Mahal that just won’t end WWE clearly has no idea what to do with Sheamus but hand him a bunch of meaningless wins. That being said Sheamus since turning face has become one of the most protected Superstars in WWE today he rarely loses matches and when he does he’d quickly avenge the loss with a post match beating or the squashing of another jobber. One may ask if they have no direction for one of the most over babyfaces than he can’t possibly win. If anything to me this is a subtle hint that he has a real good chance of winning because for one the fact that he never loses clearly is saying WWE has something major for him b/c they clearly can’t risk killing any momentum he has and the Royal Rumble may be his breakout moment as a babyface. Not to mention with the possibility of Daniel Bryan heading into Wrestlemania as what I’m sure will be a full fledged heel World Heavyweight Champion he’s gonna need a top face to feud with and all signs point to Sheamus. When you really look at it while others are getting slow build Sheamus is a guy that all that’s missing is a giant neon sign above his head saying “Big Push Pending” b/c he’s clearly in store for something major with the level of protection he has.

4. Wade Barrett

While he may not be that much of a front runner in my own opinion I can’t argue that when it comes to week by week build and potential Wade Barrett would be the first name that comes to mind. In recent weeks he has made Randy Orton damaged goods has been selling himself perfectly on the stick and is one of the few men in that locker room with a victory over The Great White. And although Randy Orton’s impending return may also spell disaster for him in the coming weeks I can’t argue with results and not say that Wade Barrett doesn’t have the most credibility among the young crop of talent backstage. Now I still don’t think he’ll win the Royal Rumble but I just can’t ignore how well this man has been built both by himself and by WWE enough to completely debunk his possibility of winning the big match. Not much more to say but he may have only a small chance of actually emerging victorious but that small chance is more of a chance than 80% of the current roster can ever claim to have.

Now that that’s out of the way let’s move on to list number two which will consist of names that are frequently mentioned for one reason or another that have NO chance whatsoever of winning this match.

1. The Miz

Despite the fact that the Miz has both a WWE championship reign and one Wrestlemania main event under his belt facts remain that it has proven to be a failed experiment. Now when I say failed experiment I am not saying it is a complete flop the way a man like Jack Swagger was handled I merely mean that after that reign came to an end The Miz did not remain a solid main event wrestler he merely found his way back to the midcard or upper midcard depending on how you see it. He went on to form a tag team with R-Truth which was surrounded in a terrible storyline only to soon be destroyed at the hands of The Rock and come to an end at the hands of a Wellness Violation. Although they continued to try with Miz by having him take out both R-Truth and John Morrison people just couldn’t buy it and he went on to feud with his former partner R-Truth fresh off his suspension who is quite possibly more over than he is at this moment. As if the news that Miz will be entering #1 isn’t enough to tell you he has no chance in hell of winning this match, just look at how he’s looked the last couple of weeks. On the receiving end of beating after beating by R-Truth and tasting Sheamus’ boot, yeah he’s not winning this match.

2. Dolph Ziggler

Although it is not confirmed there is a very good chance that Dolph Ziggler will participate in the Royal Rumble match after a losing effort in the WWE championship match with CM Punk. People are saying that due to what they feel is an inevitable push for Dolph Ziggler and recent online reports the IWC among others feel Ziggler has a very good chance of winning this and getting another chance at winning the big one at Wrestlemania. Well I’m sorry to say that I’m gonna have to put a nail in the coffin of those beliefs right now because he’s got not shot in hell of winning the Royal Rumble. First off what is happening with Dolph Ziggler now is an illusion of a push, yeah he’s wrestling for the WWE championship but when you look at how he’s been portrayed in this feud with Punk you’ll see that they didn’t have any real contact until last week. Dolph has been an afterthought in the feud between CM Punk and John Laurinaitis who will be the referee of that match Sunday. Even last Monday they opted to close the show with not a confrontation between champion and challenger but between champion and General Manager. It wasn’t until the eleventh hour that WWE felt they needed to shift some heat towards Ziggler that he came in and layed out Punk. If his poor build wasn’t enough it looks as if he’ll be feuding and getting a possible match with Mick Foley at Wrestlemania and last I checked the winner of the Royal Rumble gets a shot at the WWE championship not at Mick Foley. So in closing, Dolph Ziggler although seems like he’s only that much closer to break through to the Main Event scene, it isn’t happening Sunday.

3. Cody Rhodes

I may as well round out this with 3 names and call up the third and final front runner, he is none other than the Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes. While I believe Cody Rhodes doesn’t have even a 10% chance of winning this match and still believe he won’t win it, much like Wade Barrett; Cody Rhodes has a credibility about him that cannot be ignored. In the past weeks heading into this match he too has sold himself well on the mic saying he will pull an Ultimate Warrior and become both the Intercontinental and World Champion. He has also found himself on the winning end of an Intercontinental Championship feud with former World and 5 time WCW Champion Booker T. He is also the son of WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. While there are so many things that on paper work for Cody his pending inevitable feud with brother Goldust works against him but that’s not to say he won’t take care of that sooner than April 1st, 2012. Also when compared to the wins Wade has racked up (ie. Randy Orton and Sheamus) Cody Rhodes has only amounted two significant wins in a brief feud with a wrestler turned announcer Booker T. Still a decent accomplishment but nothing too special. The final things working against him is the Intercontinental Championship and his age. The Intercontinental Championship is in the middle of a billed “resurrection” at the hands of Cody Rhodes and I don’t believe WWE will shift Cody’s focus away from that championship by making him driven to become the World Champion in addition. Also his age, the guy is 26 years old WWE knows they’ve got plenty of time to mold this kid into something special and not blow their load too soon before he’s really ready. If he’s this good now imagine how much better he’ll be in a few years and that would be the ideal time to get him a World Championship. While he has the credibility and the internet raving support working for him I still believe Cody won’t win this match b/c of all that’s working against him which is too much to ignore that I have to write him off completely this year.

There it is, my take on who’s got a shot and who doesn’t if you a agree or disagree just let me know I’m always open to hearing other’s opinions.

Phenom, Out!

The Curious Case of Chris Jericho

On the 2nd day of 2012, Chris Jericho returned to an overwhelming response. The man himself looked the happiest I’ve ever seen him look since debuting in the WWE. The guy was smiling from ear to ear he was full of energy just doing laps around the ring and sucking in the crowd response before opting to drop the microphone in his hand and just walk away…

One week later he came back in an eerily similar fashion smiling like crazy as the fans to a lesser extent of course cheered him on as Jericho soaked it all in for quite sometime before he took one last look at the crowd and his face went from overly joyful, to tearing up in the middle of the ring. The guy just started crying before dropping the microphone again and leaving the ring in tears. Possibly so overwhelmed by the response and the admiration the crowd was showing him that he was moved?

Analysis: Of course he wasn’t crying because he was moved because you and I know better. It is quite obvious what Chris Jericho went out there and did. Chris Jericho returned on 1/2/2011 and he trolled the fans in a new way. He came out and he fucked with that crowd like they were puppets. Chris Jericho on that first night went out there and sucked the fans energy right out of them in what felt like an eternity. The crowd would not stop cheering for this man all in hopes that he would return the favor and make it worth their while and rather than give back to the fans who just wasted so much of their oxygen reacting to him, he just walked away. This man came out and purposely manipulated the crowd and why? Because he can and it validates everything Chris Jericho said about these people in his last run with the company.

Fast Forward to week number 2. He comes out once again and does the same exact thing as the crowd gives itself to him but this time Jericho would amuse himself in another way. This time in a blatantly obvious heel move Jericho cried as if he were so touched by the reaction this crowd was giving him he just started weeping uncontrollably that he had no choice but to leave b/c he’d choke up if he actually tried to speak. Needless to say this did not go over well with the fans in the building as once again Chris Jericho walks out on them.

Analysis: This segment however was alot harder to dissect, in fact i still don’t know what to make of how Jericho went about doing this. The only thing I took away from this is that once again Chris Jericho is manipulating this crowd before they ALL finally turn on him. I still am not quite sure why this week we had tears as opposed to just walking out with the same smile, but I’ll tell you one thing this little bout of bipolar disorder sure made me interested in what is going to happen next. Will he come out next week smiling and happy as hell again? Or will he walk out still crying before either A. He’s in tears throughout the entire segment before walking out again or B. Will he switch emotions again in order to amuse himself at the expense of this crowd?

Final Summary: In the end I do not know what is going to happen but I’ll tell you one thing I am damn sure interested. Why? Because what Jericho is doing is different, it’s creative, it’s risky, it’s eye-opening and further more it’s Chris Jericho. I have faith in the payoff of this angle and I have faith that this is part of a bigger picture. This whole thing is like a puzzle one week he gives us one hell of a happy dude. The next week he gives us that same happy dude before bursting in tears making people say “what the hell is this guy doing?” What is his endgame? What other piece of the puzzle will he give us next week before we can make some kind of a connection? Is there even a connection or is he just doing this for self amusement? These are the questions we ask ourselves aside from those who have gone on to hate this. There are many people even the most jaded fans who have gone on to just trash what Jericho is trying to do and why? Because it’s easier to hate what you can’t understand rather than just look at it closely and try to figure it out. This is a new kind of story and a new kind of angle. To me it’s become Chris Jericho versus the “WWE Universe” as they have become to be known. Chris Jericho is playing with the crowd’s emotions. He is wasting their time, wasting perfectly good television time by not giving the fans what they want. When it comes down to it all the fans really want is for the wrestlers to not make them feel like they wasted their time and/or money. They want them to essentially do their job and in their eyes Chris Jericho is not doing that however they cannot look away b/c he is standing out among the rest. At the end of the day I am loving this and those who aren’t can change the channel even though I know you won’t.

He pissing you off yet? #JeriTrolled

He pissing you off yet? #JeriTrolled

Special PPV Review: Wrestlemania 24

To the very few of you expecting me to review Judgment Day 2000 next, here’s me saying you’re just gonna have to wait b/c by the popular demand of just 1 vote my next review shall be my off scheduled Wrestlemania 24 review. You better be reading this one Darius or Ima be Pissed! Throwin off my Marathon schedule cuz of you.

Well ladies and gentlemen without further a due here’s Wrestlemania XXIV under the Florida Sky.

Match #1: John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) vs Finlay w/Hornswoggle - Belfast Brawl

I’m just going to completely ignore the storyline behind this b/c quite frankly it’s not worth talking about in depth and it makes me want to rate this match alot lower than it really was. All you need to know is Hornswoggle was Vince McMahon’s bastard child, but then it turned out he really wasn’t JBL kicked the little leprechaun’s ass Finlay is Hornswoggle’s father Vince by this point doesn’t give a fuck anymore shit happened thank god they at least found a kick ass way to end the months of anguish I suffered with this match. This IMO is one of Wrestlemania’s best openers of all time certainly one of my favorite’s as JBL stepped in the ring to do battle with Fit Finlay in a Belfast Brawl essentially a “No Holds Barred” match. If you want entertainment and a damn good way to kick off the show, this is what you’re looking for as this would be a straight up balls to the wall back and forth brawling as you would expect out of these two gentlemen. Hornswoggle would return after being taken out by JBL weeks prior and this would be an awesome way to kick off Mania. Not much to say about this except it was a great watch with some great spots like Finlay’s suicide dive only to get hit with the trash can lid in midair right in the skull. The biggest LOL moment when JBL would throw a trash can to the outside which hits Hornswoggle on his green ass. The finish would come after JBL kicks out of a table smash Finlay would attempt to use the steel steps to finish of JBL only to get clipped in the leg by a kendo stick dropping his face on the steps JBL bounces off the ropes and rips Finaly’s head off with the Clothesline from Hell. All in all a real kick ass way to start the show very entertaining good action and JBL won this what’s not to love?

Winner: John “Bradshaw” Layfield Match Rating: 3**

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #2: John Morrison vs Carlito vs Shelton Benjamin vs CM Punk vs Mr. Kennedy vs MVP vs Chris Jericho - Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The annual Money In The Bank ladder match before it wasn’t devalued by the annual PPV that WWE made out of it. Ah the good ol’ days. Well in this one we seemed to be one wrestler short, think his name rhymes with “Heff Jardy”. God bless the Wellness Policy. Well let’s just get on with it this match was a pretty good ladder match a few very good performances actually I think this may be one of the few ladder matches I’ve seen in which all performers withing the match got some real good stuff to work with and shined every bit in their own right. This match would have it’s flaws of course as there was bound to be a few botches here and there and that finish was just awkward as hell. But no matter this match was pretty damn good for the most part as Shelton Benjamin and John Morrison would be the two most athletic performers in this match and the way Shelton got flipped and broke through a ladder even had me saying holy shit. John Morrison moon-saulted with a fucking ladder in his hands taking out a few guys on the outside. Just awesome as well as Jericho’s Walls of Jericho on top of the ladder will always get a good pop really thought the double spring onto the ladders from Carlito and Punk were really cool. Like how they called back to what happened a year ago between Kennedy and Punk which had Kennedy on the receiving end of a ladder knocking him off the top when he was an arms reach withing the case. MVP had some cool stuff as they teased he’d win before Matt Hardy would return and Twist of Fate MVP from the top of the ladder which got a huge reaction, Morrison trying to scale a lopsided ladder was also great Benjamin’s sunset flip powerbomb assisted with a superplex was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.all and all just a really good ladder match probably wound up being better not having Jeff Hardy there to worry about. The finish however would look sloppy as Jericho tries numerous times to hit Punk in the face with the swinging briefcase but fails a few times making both stand at the top like idiots before finally hitting him Jericho looks as if he’s gonna win before Punk pulls his leg through the ladder and Jericho is hanging upside down Punk climbs to the top and he wins the match after going through hell and walking out with the contract which would win him his first world championship. Really good ladder match, great spots I know that after a while alot of these start to look the same but they’re still pretty damn entertaining and it was everything you look for in one of these matches.

Winner and Mr. Money in the Bank: CM Punk Match Rating: 3***

Spill Rating: Full Price (low)

Match #3: Batista vs Umaga - Battle for Brand Supremacy

Before the match GM’s Teddy Long and William Regal would be out there to ring announce for their brand representatives in quite frankly a feud no one really cares about. Raw vs SD! hasn’t meant anything really since 2005 I wasn’t interested in the reasons behind the match but I was interested in seeing the match b/c i care about both Batista and Umaga as wrestlers and I wanna see this damn match. Out first was Batista to an awesome entrance as this Stadium Arena really does alot for the beauty of this production value. Out next is “UMANGA” as William Regal so elegantly pointed out.Now onto the match, this was really nothing special it was actually pretty short, however I was never bored as both these guys worked real well together more so Umaga who I’m willing to say did most of the work in this match showing some real good athleticism for a man his size really works over Batista the majority of this match as Batista sells a back injury throughout the whole thing but this match really made Umaga look awesome as he was taming the animal. The finish would come As Umaga sets up the samoan spike but Batista would block it looking Super for a bit before nailing a spinebuster on Umaga and hitting a Batista Bomb on the Samoan Bulldozer in an awesome looking powerbomb really showcased Batista’s strength. Although i will admit it was kinda lame it ended like that merely b/c there were no more matches between the two after this but regardless not a boring match. Umaga was great in this really a step up from the clusterfuck of a match he was in last year’s Wrestlemania. Good match could’ve been better, nothing more nothing less.

Match #4: Kane vs Chavo Guerrero - ECW Championship

This match would mark the only time that the ECW championship has ever been defended at Wrestlemania and boy does this one suck. I mean first off the title match wasn’t built at all. Kane won a pre-WM battle royal so that he’d challenge Chavo later on this night. And on top of that Armando Estrada is doing the ring announcing and Kane doesn’t even get his entrance instead he just shows up behind Chavo who is acting all tough when he thinks Kane is gonna walk the ramp but then starts to flip out like his plan is messed up b/c Kane is now behind him. WTF, dude either way you can’t do shit till the bell rings what does it matter where he’s standing? Is he standing on your lucky spot? Chavo flips out and charges Kane like a moron who gets a Chokeslam for his stupidity and gets pinned and Kane is the new ECW champion. Stupid match if they really wanted to make it look like Chavo had no chance they could’ve had Kane chokeslam him w/out warning and when the lights came on he’d finish him off with a tombstone for the win.

Winner and new ECW Champion: Kane Match Rating: 0*

Spill Rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit (It’s only not a Fuck You b/c at least they took the belt off Chavo who SUCKS!)

Match #5: Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair - Career Threatening Match

I’m not even going to explain the backstory b/c quite frankly if you’re reading this you know exactly what this match is all about. Matches like these are a perfect example of how amazing professional wrestling can be when these two legends of the ring would meet on the grandest stage of them all with Ric Flair’s career on the line. Shawn Michaels torn, uncertain as to whether or not performing his best and ending Flair’s career is the right thing to do. He does not want to be the one responsible for ending his idol’s career but at the same time he made a promise to Ric to give him his best no matter what. These two stepped into the ring the atmosphere was amazing they locked up and from there we received a classic. Although I have several problems with this match as a wrestling match from a storytelling standpoint it can’t be matched thus night. Shawn early on would miss a springboard asai moonsault and break a few ribs as he crashes into the announce table. From then on out everyone can tell Shawn was hurt bad, his face told the story better than I ever could. Shawn throughout this match would perform like a pro Flair too would perform better than normal as he would get a strong reaction with every move he performed including an impressive stalling vertical suplex, luckily hbk is as light as a feather. Shawn would tease his super kick at one point before stopping himself and Flair taking advantage by putting Shawn in the figure 4 leg lock. Crowd erupted at this as the majority was firmly behind Flair. Shawn would be placed in this hold another time even attempting one of his own. Flair and Shawn were really selling the importance of this match. Back and forth action brilliant storytelling and the crowd was into it from beginning to end. The finish would come as Shawn and Ric would battle it out with chops before hbk nails him with a 2nd super kick Shawn gets himself up as he is hesitantly tuning up the band looks up to a slowly recovering Ric Flair asking him to finish him off Shawn slowly looks at him and says “I’m sorry, I love you” before kicking Flair one last time for the pin fall and the win. Excellent match and amazing story. Not much to say but watch the fucking thing ppl!

Winner: Shawn Michaels Match Rating: 4**

Match #6: Beth Phoenix & Melina vs Maria & Ashley - Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill Tag Team Match

Good lord that title was a mouthful, appropriately so as the divas are next. Ok I’ll just be quick aside from one innovative tag move outta Melina and Beth this match SUCKED! I honestly have no idea why WWE always feels the need to cram all these women into one giant match. We actually I do, it’s to have alot of tits and ass out there however they fail to see that they can dress it up anyways they want it just distracts from the actual match. Snoop Dogg was there looking bored as fuck feel bad for Melina and Beth having to work with glorified playboy cover girls at Wrestlemania no less lights went out at one point a blessing in disguise is what that was. In short if you’re in the mood to rub one out there’s no shortage of T&A for that this is the match for you but at Mania its a waste of time Beth and Melina win no one cares Santino gets beat on by both Jerry Lawler and Snoop Dogg no one cares Snoop makes out with Maria then leaves the building with both Ashley and Maria looking like he’s gonna take both of them home tonight.

Winners: Beth Phoenix & Melina Match Rating: 1*

Match #7: John Cena vs Triple H vs Randy Orton - Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship

I’m just going to go on record and say this match was not very good. Don’t get me wrong as far as triple threat action goes this is pretty good. But I could not find myself caring at all about who wins this match I only know who I don’t want to win and his name is John Cena. Who btw came out to a marching band entrance the crowd booing the hell out if him Tripke H came out to a great looking entrance pryo galore, Orton soon follows as he looks as if he has no chance in hell. Solid action Orton cross body to Cena while HHH had him in an electric chair was a good visual and Orton’s double RKO was clearly designed for a triple threat. However the crowd did not seem to give a shit as to who should win the only thing they care about is booing every move Cena makes and not caring enough to cheer for anyone. Each guy got some good offense Cena did his routine Orton did too and HHH got his crap in. The fans almost lost their shit every time Cena had an STF locked in but all in all a very underwhelming main event between 3 wrestlers no one cared about HHH main eventing was BS. Might as well should’ve had Cena vs Orton to close the story on them for good. The finish came as Triple H hit a pedigree on Cena went for the pin but Orton softly punts HHH in the head and pins Cena himself in a swerve of all swerves! Honestly who could care especially after the title drop a month later. Solid but underwhelming.

Winner and still WWE Champion: Randy Orton Match Rating: 3**

Match #8: Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs The Big Show - No DQ match

Earlier that week the match was made so that you can also win via KO, not that it wasn’t already obvious Big Show wasn’t going over in this match. Bottom line this match was a huge surprise in the fact that I was entertained as hell throughout the whole thing. This was no technical masterpiece or even a store bought painting. This was merely a fun ass clusterfuck as the crowd was never not into this. Mayweather played the small arrogant prick to a tee punching Show and backing up avoiding him patting himself on the back drinking out of some big ass blinged out challis before Big Shiw gets serious and beats up one of Floyd’s boys then went on to beat on Floyd taking his time with this little bastard really entertaining the crowd all the while Floyd’s posse is worried cursing out the ref before trying to get him outta there Big Show chases them up the ramp and beats them all up before getting Floyd back in the ring. The finish would come as Floyd beats up Show with a chair takes done brass knuckles from his boy’s chain and just punches the hell outta Show with them. Big Show can’t make the 10 count and Floyd wins. This match was entertaining nothing great but it was better than I expected and the crowd booing the hell outta Floyd was priceless. I’d feel bad for Big Show for always doing jobs like these if I didn’t know he didn’t make big money everyone he agrees to do them.

Winner: Floyd “Money” Mayweather via KO Match Rating: 3

Main Event: The Undertaker vs Edge - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Well i’m just not gonna make any secret about it I loved this fucking match. It was one of my favorite Wrestlemania main events of all time. It had everything it had a story behind it with a history among competitors but in the end unlike Flair/Michaels this was a wrestling driven match as opposed to a story driven match. Edge from the onset was pummeled before taking advantage of a moment of weakness by the Undertaker and from then he was two steps ahead of the phenom countering everything in his arsenal. One move after another just working taker over seemingly the entire match. It made Edge appear as if he had constructed a gameplan earlier and is working it to perfection just classic wrestling by this dastardly villain however as the match progresses despite Edge outsmarting Taker at every turn he just can’t put him away and cannot kill the streak. Edge too overcame much of Taker’s weapons showing toughness and a sickness an obsession rather to end the streak even kicking out of a tombstone at one point when Charles Robinson did the famous sprint to the ring in order to count the fall. I also loved how they called back to some of their history Edge using the TV camera shades of Survivor Series using interference by Hawkins and Ryder shades of Armageddon Taker disposed of those two only to get hit with a wicked spear which had a few fans aghast that Edge in heel like fashion wound end the streak and crush the spirit of the creatures of the night. Undertaker again kicked out and Edge’s face here was brilliant as he realizes he’s done everything he’s needed to ever do to win a match against anyone and Taker still won’t die. Edge goes for another spear this time seemingly just to do it as even he is doubting himself but hits it anyways and all of a sudden out of no where the Undertaker would hook Edge with the Hell’s Gate submission the crowd going nuts Edge doing everything he can to hit some ropes but he can’t see them and can’t feel them it’s all riding on this but Edge realizes he can take no more and taps out. What an excellent wrestling match and a great way to end this show.

Great show one of the best Mania’s of all time.

Here you go people welcome to Backlash 2000!

Match #1: Edge & Christian vs D-X (Road Dogg & X-Pac) w/ Tori WWF Tag Team Championship Match

Alright well let’s just get down to it E&C are making their first PPV title defense since winning back at Wrestlemania and they square off with DX, not much to say about this match other than it being a good solid opener. Some good double team action crowd was firmly behind E&C got some good heat from the crowd as Tori interfered on behalf of X-Pac as well as the Tag the ref didn’t see Christian make. E&C were clearly the favorites in this match Christian was made to be the punching bag for the majority of this match before Hot Tagging to Edge. The finish came when all hell broke loose Tori got popped by X-Pac accidentally in the head X-Pac tried taking advantage later with the X-Factor to Edge ref was busy tending to Tori and Road Dogg on the outside that’s when Christian would use the ring bell and clock Pac in the head with it and Christian pins Pac for the win. Despite the good opener it was clearly botched at the end when the ref counted the pin b/c Christian WAS NOT the legal man. That pissed me off but whatever I’ve seen worse still hurts the overall rating.

Winners and Still WWF Tag Team Champions: Edge & Christian Match Rating: 2**

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #2: Dean Malenko vs Scotty 2 Hotty - WWF Light Heavyweight Championship

This was a pretty damn good match I must say really enjoyed the hell out of every second of it, fast paced for the most part with good methodical offense out of Malenko he really showed some good psychology in this match the way he worked on Scotty’s left leg hitting some real nice moves and Scotty as well did his part as the face trying to battle out of a tough spot. Just all in all a real fun match to watch you’ve gotta check it out however there is one thing in this match that pissed me off. Scotty’s worm although entertaining in this match the guy starts hoping on one leg the leg that Dean has been working on for over 8 minutes and this dude Scotty no sells the shit out of it by hoping on that leg and not immediately falling to the mat from the pain. Made me all the more happy when the finish came and Dean Malenko countered Scotty’s attempt at a Top Rope Superplex and impaled this no selling SOB with a DDT from the top rope and the pinfall.

Winner and Still WWF Light Heavyweight Champion: Dean Malenko Match Rating: 3*

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #3: The Acolytes (Farooq & Bradshaw) vs Big Biss Man & Bull Buchanan

Wasn’t expecting a stright up tag team wrestling match and I didn’t get one, what I got was a back and forth brawl between two big ass teams that lost it’s appeal after 5 or 6 minutes. A few botches here and there and not something I’d ever watch again with excitement but nonetheless it wasn’t Godawful to the point where I wanted to bang my head up against the wall. there was some decent brawling hard hitting stuff but nothing special the finish came as Boss Man nails Farooq with a night Stick and Bull hits a leg drop to the back of Bradshaws head for the win.

Winner: Bull Buchanan and The Big Boss Man Match Rating: 1***

Spill Rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit (high)

Match #4: Six Way Hardcore Match for the WWF Hardcore Championship : Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy vs Hardcore Holly vs Perry Saturn vs Tazz vs Crash Holly

Just gonna keep this short and sweet, a fun ass hardcore match despite the ridiculous amount of no selling, specifically Matt Hardy’s dive off the Backlash Set onto the other 5 opponents. It seemed like everyone got up 5 seconds after what Jim Ross made sound like a devestating move but nonetheless you will be entertained by this match as 6 men is easier to manage than that bullshit from WM 2000. The object of this was that the champion needs to be pinned in order to lose the title and boy did they work this cuz Crash took some serious abuse in this match. Each challenger beating him silly before trying a pinfall before being put in a Tazzmission. Saturn would smash Tazz in the head with a STOP sign to force a break Tha Hardyz would dive on top Saturn & Hardcore simultaneously to the outside as Crash rolls over on Tazz and gets a pinfall. A really fun hardcore match that will entertain you despite how ridiculous alot of it is but it really put Crash over to look like a Survivor.

Winner and Still WWF Hardcore Champion: Crash Holly Match Rating: 3

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #5: Big Show vs Kurt Angle

Let’s just go ahead and say this was a comedy match, you knew it would be the second Big Show came out dressed like Hogan dawning the name “Showster” went on to cut a hilarious Hulk Hogan impersonation promo. I remember I was laughing like crazy when I saw this live but now onto the match, it started out with Big Show doing Hogan’s hulk up routine and went on to use every one of Hogan’s moves in about a minute all the while Jim Ross and King were really poking fun at Hogan during this match JR calling out Hogan’s “no sell” and king making comments about how no one every kicks out of the leg drop. Angle eventually got some offense in attacking Show’s leg but he’d be stopped soon when Show would remove the bald cap and fake goatee and get pissed off enough to beat Angle’s ass and just dominate with a chokeslam and the pinfall. A terrible wrestling match but a funny ass Comedy match I won’t lie.

Winner: Big Show the Showster Match Rating: 1*

Spill Rating: Matinee (purely cuz it’s an entertaining watch)

Match #6: T&A (Test and Albert) w/ Trish Stratus vs The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von)

Well let’s just get right down to it, the story behind the match is basically Bubba Dudley being infatuated with Trish Stratus and despite all the women he’s put through tables in the past Trish Stratus would always use her sexual advances to stop Bubba from doing the same to her. Well the match it self was….hold on one second Good Lord Trish Stratus is fucking hot as hell in this outfit. Screw it I may just give this a Better than Sex rating, but I won’t I did watch the match unfortunately. Ok let’s just get on with it. This is basically a hard hitting back and forth tag team match, can’t say I don’t sympathize with the Dudley’s considering who they have to work with. Bubba screaming at Trish throughout the match was entertaining as hell routine double teams some decent hard hitting stuff but not a very enthralling match as you would expect. The match would end with Trish climbing atop the apron and removing her robe shows off her assets to Bubba who is distracted long enough for Test to nail him with the Big boot and the pinfall. The best stuff would be post match as the Dudley’s take out T&A Bubba would grab Trish by the hair and is set to put her through a table even attempts to escape Bubba’s clutches by making out with Bubba who I’m sure enjoyed the hell out of that but regardless got her up to the top rope and superbombed her sexy little self through some wood.

Winners: Test and Albert Match Rating: 2*

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #7: Eddie Guerrero w/Chyna vs Essa Rios w/Lita - WWF European Championship

Well I’m just gonna be straightforward about this one and say this was an alright match that could have and should’ve been better than it would up being but no matter. As you can tell our beloved Chyna has sided with Eddie Guerrero which we knew would happen at one point or another b/c quite frankly no one can resist Eddie’s Latino Heat. Eddie came out and wrestled in Tuxedo pants as he and Chyna came straight from that prom. Essa came out with lita by his side and we had some good lucha style action out of these two despite it being shaky beginning with Essa botching his lucha libre style double spring arm drag very noticeably too might I add as the crowd just gasped at his mistake. This was a very boring beginning as you can literally hear crickets during the first half of this match. Lita tried to get involved at one point to help Rios before Chyna knocked her off to hit the announce table. It would take some flashy moves but Essa would wake the crowd up with an springboard Asai Moonsault followed soon by a running somersault plancha to the outside. Chyna would get involved again setting up a brainbuster from Eddie to a frog splash attempt, but Essa would arm drag him off the top and follows up with a moonsault attempt but Eddie would get his knees up and finish off Rios with a very nice helicopter neckbreaker for the pinfall. The post match stuff would be very entertaining as Lita would strip Chyna to her bra and panties. This was a decent match that didn’t pick up till the end with some good interjections from the managers so mostly good.

Winner and still WWF European Champion: Eddie Guerrero Match Rating: 3

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #8: Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho - Intercontinental Championship

This would be the first one on one match between these two guys on PPV and I gotta say it was one hell of a way to begin this rivalry. This is perfect example of a good match with a bad or rather underwhelming finish but I do understand why they did it. Jericho kicks off the match cutting a promo on Benoit calling him Mr. Robato and tweaking it just enough to relate to the fans in Washington D.C. These two would begin with an aggressive collar and elbow tie up taking each other to the outside and from then it was on. We got a very good back and forth wrestling exchange from the two also get a very stiff chop battle. The pace did slow down about mid match but that’s ok b/c well it was mid match stuff. Overall a very good match both men had plenty of time to shine and show their stuff Benoit got some good offense in as did Jericho got two very good false finishes with the Walls of Jericho and Crossface tap out attempts. The finish would come when the ref Tim White takes a bump and Benoit leaves the ring to grab the IC title belt and smash Jericho in the face with it only for Jericho to kick out, Benoit realized it’s time to put him away and he goes up top for the diving headbutt leaps into the air to come down on Jericho who would grab the belt that lied beside him to and smash Benoit in the head with it as he came down for the headbutt. Tim White calls for thew DQ finish and this match is over much to the crowds displeasure and post match Jericho would snap and put Tim White in the Walls of Jericho for a little justice. Obviously they went with the DQ finish in order to keep the rivalry going some more as this was when I knew these guys would be career long rivals.

Winner and still WWF Intercontinental Champion: Chris Benoit via DQ Match Rating: 3*

Spill Rating: Matinee

Main Event: The Rock vs Triple H w/Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley - WWF Championship Match

Let me just go ahead and get this started as I discuss this match a little more in depth and say THIS is the match and scenario that should have happened at Wrestlemania the month before b/c this match and angle itself was fucking excellent. The story behind this whole thing was the Rock feeling the shaft after being screwed over by Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania therefore he went on to earn himself a re-match vs Triple H for the title at Backlash however Vince McMahon will move heaven and Earth to make sure the Rock is never champion again including making sure both he and Stephanie would be out there at ringside and Shane Mcmahon would be made special referee for the match. Linda Mcmahon would return to balance things out and announce that in The Rock’s corner the beer drinking finger gesturing foul mouth son of a bitch Stone Cold Steve Austin. However it’s been hours into the PPv and Steve Austin has yet to show up and by this point you’re asking yourself, will Austin even be here? Considering it was a B-Show PPV and Jim Ross all night indicated that Mcmahon is behind Austin being late I thought he might not show up. But all in all the match would be an awesome back and forth display between the two wrestlers who dominated the year 2000 and one of my favorite rivalries of all time. It starts very simple with a slugfest between the two throwing bombs both men hit some moves and we witness the biggest biased refereeing that I can remember with Shane fast counting in favor of HHH and not counting at all for The Rock including Vince striking Rock in the face with the belt we’d later get an awesome spot in which Rock Rock Bottoms both HHH and Shane Mcmahon through the announce table. Vince however has other plans as he distracts Vince soon after long enough so HHH can nail him with a pedigree. HHH goes for a pin but Shane is out so Vince signals the back and out would come Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco in referee shirts to count the fall and One Two… and The Rock kicks out again. Vince goes nuts and strikes Rock in the head with the chair and Patterson and Brisco continue to beat on Rock who looks done put a valiant effort but he can’t overcome odds like this before….* GLASS SHATTERS* the fans go nuts and out come a pudgy yet bad ass Stone Cold Steve Austin with the steel chair in hand nails HHH in the back with the chair and follows up by going on an unprotected headshots rampage striking Brisco Patterson a recovering Shane and the Vince. HHH tries to get back in the ring only to walk right into another chair shot this time to the head by Steve Austin and it is absolute chaos as he Arrived and Raised Hell now he leaves. Linda Mcmahon walks up with referee Earl Hebner by her side The Rock follows up by hitting HHH with the spinebuster and sets up for the people’s elbow as the crowd is as loud as I’ve ever heard in my life as Rock does his schtick and hits HHH with the elbow Hebner comes in and counts 1, 2 and THREE!!! The Rock is the NEW WWF Champion and the place explodes The Rock celebrates before Austin returns and both men face off for a bit before Austin toasts Rock and the Rock toasts Steve Austin back as you can tell it won’t be long before these two main event a PPV together again. All and all this match was absolute chaos I mean it can’t get any more all over the place than this was however you are entertained the whole way through, it was like a big budget action flick with balls to the wall action and explosions but you just check your wrestling purist brain at the door not that i think that way but you do it and you enjoy this awesome clusterfuck!

It still should’ve happened at Wrestlemania!

Winner and New WWF Champion: The Rock Match rating: 4

Well there it is people one of the better PPV’s that year in WWF certainly a memorable show with one of the most electrifying (pun intended) ending off all time but I cannot stress enough how this should’ve happened on the grandest stage of them all. All in all a very good show that everyone should watch as you will not be disappointed. All and all I’ll see you next time with Judgment Day 2000.

Of course if I am to create a list to rival that horse manure WWE put out I’d have to rank them all in order of match quality and storytelling and even trim the fat. It took a while but you’ll all be proud to know that I did it. That’s right I fucking did it so w/out further a due I give to you the WWE Univer….

WWE and wrestling fans the WWE’s top 25 matches of 2011. Let the countdown begin.

#25. Rey Mysterio vs John Cena - WWE Championship Match

Raw 7/25/2011

On this night everyone watching witnessed a pretty significant episode of Monday Night Raw as it witnessed the crowning of a new WWE champion, the return of Jim Ross to the commentary booth as well as the return of CM Punk. But on this night albeit through plain nonsensical booking we as wrestling fans were given a treat. The newly crowned champion Rey Mysterio took on the very “controversial” as they like to call him John Cena and I can go on and on about how Cena getting a title shot makes no Goddamn sense the same night Rey Mysterio won it but I’ll just forget all that check my brain at the door and say that these two guys delivered. This match was a very good match it would mark the first ever one on one meeting between John Cena and Rey Mysterio for a World Championship Rey Mysterio wrestled as a valiant champion wrestling circles around John Cena for the majority of this match as John Cena looked to not have his head in the game for this one for the most part. Rey Mysterio really made this match exciting in his counters and focus while John Cena looked out of it with only a few flashes of brilliance but nonetheless a memorable encounter between two of the WWE’s biggest stars which would result in John Cena defeating Rey Mysterio and capturing his 11th world championship. Not as good a match as I know they can give us although the fact that we have the announce team of Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross calling the action added alot to it. It’s not something I’d have on PPV but a good memorable encounter that was good for what it was when you consider the story behind it.

#24. John Morrison vs Dolph Ziggler - United States Championship Match

Survivor Series

Survivor Series, despite being remembered and billed merely for the return of The Rock to in ring competition however the match that stole the show would be the United States Championship match between two of the best young workers in WWE. There was ALOT of controversy behind this match as the Internet has been buzzing for over a month now to give a cult favorite Zack Ryder a United States Championship match in Madison Square Garden, but instead the man who would be chosen was the Guru of Greatness John Morrison and when it comes down to match quality this was definitely the way to go. Despite the crowd being very vocal about wanting Ryder these two went on to put on one hell of an opening contest. If history has indicated anything it would have to be that when you take Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison and put them in the ring together you’re going to get a pretty damn entertaining match and we got it alright. Offense from both men was solid, the execution of every move was very fluid great back and forth as well as great heel tactics out of Dolph Ziggler, and John Morrison wouldn’t disappoint as he too gave Ziggler alot to remember him by making it one of the more exciting opening matches on PPV this year which would result in a successful title defense for Ziggler and John Morrison’s final PPV appearance.

#23. CM Punk vs Alberto Del Rio vs Rey Mysterio - Falls Count Anywhere Triple Threat #1 contenders match for the WWE championship

Raw 6/20/2011

June 20th was the night that Raw gave Power to the People! Or so they would have you believe but nonetheless this here was a hell of a match. Three of the best performers on the Raw brand decided to give us some damn good wrestling on this night. Everyone in this match performed like a wrestler should but Rey Mysterio was just on another level. I know, I know here I go singing the praises of Rey Mysterio again but if anyone in that locker room deserves it it would have to be him. The best thing about this match is the fact that not only did we see some good action but the action in this match never stopped, CM Punk wrestled like a heel, Alberto wrestled like a pro, and Rey Mysterio was on gear number 4. It must’ve gone 9 or 10 minutes but it’ll be the best 9 minutes of your life if you sit back and watch this match again. Balls to the wall action and on top of that it occurred on a memorable night as CM Punk would win this match by stealing this win from Rey Mysterio and announcing afterward he was leaving the company with the WWE championship. All in all, a very good match one of the best things we’ve seen on Raw in WWE this year.

#22. Wade Barrett vs Daniel Bryan - Summerslam

If there’s one thing you can always count on out of Wade Barrett it would have to be inconsistent ring performances however if there’s one thing you can always count on Daniel Bryan for it would be the best damn ring performances you can ever ask for. This match here is one of the more underrated matches not only on PPV, but in the entire WWE. Not alot to say about this other than it was a good wrestling match as Daniel Bryan puts Wade Barrett over here like a million dollars resulting in a victory for Barrett. the action was fluid and these two really seemed to work well together each hitting some damn good offense as well as a good false finish when Daniel Bryan who was the MITB contract holder at the time was due for a second PPV win locked in Barrett for the Labelle lock and as we all waited for the tap out we didn’t get it as the match continues and results in Wade Barrett capitalizing on a stunned Daniel Bryan and would follow up with his finisher the Wasteland. Good wrestling match both men did very good despite being basically overlooked by most.

#21. Daniel Bryan vs Alberto Del Rio - Smackdown 8/19/2011

Yet another forgotten gem the newly crowned WWE Champion returns to Smackdown as he faces the one of Smackdown’s best wrestlers. First off let me just go on record and say that I fucking HATE Michael Cole. His commentary is so awful here that i do not blame any of you for not going back to watch this match even though i am about to tell every single one of you exactly why you should. This was an excellent wrestling match. If you’re a wrestling purist, this here is the match for you. Never have I seen Del Rio work the arm of any of his opponents with this much consistency really set up the finish nicely and Daniel Bryan as well proved that he is a workhorse in his selling as well as his offense. Both men complimented each other so well in this match giving all of us something to jump out of our seats for. The match got a really good amount of time and by the time it was over both men looked like they just came out of a fight. Bryan threw picture perfect kicks in this match to go well with all the arm damage Del Rio was inflicting upon Bryan including a very nifty top rope arm-breaker. This match would end after Del Rio narrowly escapes Bryan’s clutches as he is was trapped in a Guillotine choke but the new champion would overcome Bryan deliver a very nice suplex and as quick as a snap he’d lock on the cross armbreaker and have the valiant Daniel Bryan tap out. An excellent wrestling match tip my hat of to both men and flip my middle finger to Michael Cole.

#20. Rey Mysterio vs CM Punk - Capitol Punishment

Unlike the last match this here is no forgotten gem, it would more than likely be classified as a diamond in the rough. The long forgotten inaugural Capitol Punishment PPV can more than likely be classified as a giant flop but if there were ever any reason to to actually watch this show ever again it would be because of CM Punk and Rey Mysterio. This would be their 3rd time competing against one another this month and their 5th one on one PPV encounter and boy did these guys get creative. This match was as exciting and as innovative as you can ever ask for with the different counters, strikes and high flying offense. These two really went out of their way to give the fans an awesome match despite not having to b/c let’s face it, this feud hadn’t been the most riveting and they had already wrestled 2 more times prior to this on Raw. This match was as good a wrestling match as well as a catches catch can style as it began simple with each men trying to out wrestle each other which would give us some nice chain grappling sequences and we’d move on to moves like Rey Mysterio’s missile like diving headbutt as well as a 619 to Punk while he was on the apron the various array of kicks these men were throwing it was just too much of a cool wrestling match that you really have to see. You can just tell these two men got together prior to the match and really planned this match out in their heads. The end would come as CM Punk would counter Rey’s 619 get him up on his shoulders for the GTS and upon defeating Rey he would usher the words “Best In The World” for the first time.

#19. Mark Henry vs The Big Show - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Vengeance

The collision of collisions, Mark Henry has ruled over Smackdown the way no one has making everyone take notice that he is for real. If you even attempt to stop him you will end up in the Hall of Pain. However that did not stop the Big Show a victim of said hall to return and challenge Mark Henry for his World Heavyweight Championship and on the night for Vengeance Big Show would face Mark Henry and we would get one of the most impressive displays I have ever seen in my life out of wrestlers this size. It was like Godzilla vs King Kong these two men did not waste any time and like two 50 foot monsters they smashed into each other tossed each other around the only thing missing was the building and the people surrounding them trying to get the hell out of there. This match considering the competitors can only be classified as fucking awesome as both men would display true talent. The one great visual I will always take away from this match would have to be that final stare-down mid match before the charged each other. The finish of this match would come as Mark Henry would climb to the top rope going after the Big Show and proceed to superplex the hell out of him shaking the world and destroying their battlefield as the ring would implode and both men would have to be carried out of this arena. Hands down the best big man match of the year.

#18. Raw’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Of course when you’re looking up the top matches of any year really you always gotta look back and consider the annual Money In The Bank ladder match. This match was very entertaining b/c quite frankly it’s a fucking ladder match for crying out loud. This match wouldn’t be the best worked ladder match I’ve ever seen in my life but I can’t discount what it does to a crowd who wants to see some non-stop off the wall insane spot action and this match does it. Several kick ass spots were performed including that unforgettable spot by Evan Bourne in which he performed the shooting star press from the top of the ladder. That one was certainly one for the books, not much more to say aside from this being a good ladder match and one of the more noteworthy matches of the years as Alberto Del Rio would fulfill his destiny and grab the briefcase he needed to complete his destiny as he stands atop of the ladder triumphant like the conqueror he so ever embodies.

#17. Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk vs John Cena - Triple Threat Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Championship

After shoddy booking and horrible ratings stunts the newly crowned WWE champion Alberto Del Rio had lost his title a mere one month after winning it and who do ya think had it now? At the 3rd annual Hell In a Cell PPV Alberto was a man on a mission determined to win his championship back as he faced off against CM Punk and the new champion John Cena. Despite all the crap and poor build to this match once again these three men managed to take all that bullshit and put it behind them as they put on one hell of an entertaining match. Now of course by Hell In a Cell standards this was no Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker but regardless in the first triple threat Hell In a Cell match all three men here put in a great effort and performed some really good fast paced action and it’s certainly a fun match to watch. The thing that got me the most would have to be the finish of the match as the act of locking Cena out of the cage was genius as the villain Alberto Del Rio would use a lead pipe to finish off the new folk hero CM Punk and defeat him and winning his WWE championship back, it was the calm before the storm before the inevitable chaos would ensue.

#16. Randy Orton vs Christian - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Smackdown 5/6/2011

It was 48 hours after Christian had finally achieved his lifelong goal in WWE and proceeded to pour his heart out to the fans who have supported him his entire career before WWE felt the need Christian should defend his World Championship on this very night to Randy Orton. Orton is the challenger. Christian is the champion. This is his time. This is his moment and this is the match that will make or break his credibility as our champion. Both men would lock up and give us the best main event of Smackdown in 2011. A phenomenal back and forth contest between two of the top performers in the company today and the fact that it happened on TV really helped for the prestige of the Smackdown brand. Christian looked as tough as they come and Orton well he looked like Orton Mr. Domination as always but it works well with Christian as his opponent the match was exciting from the beginning with the finishing sequence being some of the best moves exchange I’ve seen on TV in a long time everything was looking in Christian’s favor before he bounced off the turnbuckle and Randy Orton would crush Christian’s dreams faster than you can say “Fuck This”. Despite the complete lack of sense in this finish and an awful decision I would have to rate this match amongst the best of Smackdown in 2011.

#15. John Cena vs Alberto Del Rio - Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship

Vengeance

Once again John Cena and Alberto Del Rio would meet however this time it would be in the confines of a broken ring as they had to follow the war that had just ensued between the Big Show and Mark Henry. On this night champion Alberto Del Rio entered what was left of the battlefield and went on to face a new John Cena dawning the words “Rise Above Hate” on his clothes. These two men managed to put on one hell of an entertaining match despite the their stage being a complete mess but it had to be done in order to end this feud. And what a way for it to end as these two would not only battle in a broken ring but all over the arena using everything in their path to inflict damage on one another resulting in many excellent visuals and enjoyable brutality. These two men went through a war with John Cena in the midst of victory would be attacked by the Miz and R-Truth resulting in the loss of the face of the WWE as the new villain left the building with the spoils. One of the better last man standing matches I’ve seen in recent years as even Ricardo’s role in the match was fun to watch so this match here is certainly up there and a must watch if you want something different.

#14. Smackdown’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match

In the opening Money In The Bank contest, this year Smackdown would feature a variety of different competitors and that would go on to put on hell of an innovation expo. This match although more confined to keeping the action focused on 3 to 4 competitors at a time this match here was the one to watch because it was just move after move spot after spot and really highlighted talent of those whom you wouldn’t care about on a regular basis. Memorable spots such as Sheamus power bombing Sin Cara through a ladder making sure he was out the various outside dives Justin Gabriels 450 off a bridged ladder as well as Kane coke slamming Sheamus atop a ladder himself. Nothing much more to say here except for 8 competitors fighting for a shot at glory it would come down to the young Daniel Bryan atop the ladder fighting off his then rival Cody Rhodes as well as the Ruthless Wade Barrett who was determined to make sure Bryan crashed and burned instead he would face the fury of Daniel Bryan who would escape his clutches and kick him in the face for good measure as he continues to climb to the top and grab the briefcase as the Chicago crowd erupted at the sight of the valiant Daniel Bryan standing atop with the briefcase.

#13. Alberto Del Rio vs The Miz vs CM Punk - Triple Threat TLC Match for the WWE Championship

At the final PPV of the year the new WWE Champion CM Punk would be faced with one of the more challenging obstacles of his career, kayfabe wise of course b/c let’s face it Punk wasn’t losing this match. However despite the predictability if you’re a wrestling fan and extreme match type fan you’ll sure but not get everything you’re looking for in this one as CM Punk the new hero was in the middle of two of the slimiest heel competitors going today in Alberto Del Rio and The Miz. This match as well as CM Punk’s performance really made him look like he can perform as a crowd favorite as he had to overcome these two and all the obstacles they threw his way including Ricardo Rodriguez and Miz’s tactics including handcuffing CM Punk to not only a ladder but to the ring ropes as well, good table spots and some really stiff moves as well as one of my favorite shots of the night Alberto Del Rio hitting Punk with the top rope enziguri sending Punk smashing through a table. Punk looked very vulnerable in this match and the heels looked very dominant and downright underhanded but through it all that valiant performance out of CM Punk showed that he can hang in the main event. A real good TLC match.

#12. Randy Orton vs CM Punk - Last Man Standing Match

Extreme Rules

It was the final battle between these two men their rivalry spewing from manipulation and hatred as well as an old grudge held by the second city saint and leader of the New Nexus CM Punk. This was as rough and tough as you can ask for in this day and age, both men worked very well together alot of very stiff moves in this match as well as some comic relief by the very charismatic CM Punk. This was one hell of a way to blow off this feud as Orton was up 2 to nothing as far as one on one encounters go, it looked as if CM Punk was due for a win but it was to no avail as The Viper Randy Orton would go postal on CM Punk before nearly breaking his damn neck at the sight of his top rope RKO. Randy Orton stands victorious as he looks forward to his new home of Friday Night Smackdown leaving CM Punk behind a broken mess. This was the opening match to a stacked Extreme Rules PPV and it was one hell of a way to start both men got time to shine CM Punk performed especially well in his role as the heel and Randy Orton although his crazy tirades can get bothersome It was completely necessary for the finish of this match, bottom line if you like good back and forth action with two guys taking each other to the limit, this is the match for you.

#11. John Morrison vs John Cena vs The Miz - Triple Threat Steel Cage Match for the WWE Championship

Extreme Rules

It’s not very likely that in this day and age in the WWE cage matches can be very exciting due to obvious reasons as they all wind up looking the same. However on this night, things were different. Three men stepped into this steel structure and managed to make a kick ass cage match. And of course and this isn’t me being a fanboy but John Morrison would be the primary reason to thank for why this match was actually very entertaining. His athleticism and ring style really helped turned what could’ve been a very boring basic match feel that it was more. Of course that’s not to say Miz and Cena didn’t do their parts as they really made the most of having an athlete like Morrison in that match. The match also told a story very well, Morrison qualified for this match under nefarious means if you want to look at it that way and payed the price for it heavily as his former partner and friend R-Truth was originally supposed to be in this match but instead went mad after Morrison took his spot which of course played a role in the finish of this match. The offense was solid the action was entertaining Morrison again really added to this match with some innovative moves using the cage and the environment around him to combat his opponents one very neat Chuck Kick spot as well as him getting crotched on the cage door and the very cool Starship Pain spot from the top of the cage taking out both his opponents as he crawled out the cage door before R-Truth attacks him and lays him out stopping him from winning the championship looking like a true crazy person, it was b/c of this that Cena was able to finish the Miz off with a Super Attitude Adjustment defeating Miz and winning the WWE championship once again. All in all a pretty damn good cage match I shudder to think how it would’ve turned out had it been R-Truth in this match over Morrison.

#10. Edge vs Dolph Ziggler - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Royal Rumble

Here we go we’ve made it to the top 10 and we begin with the opening match of the the biggest Royal Rumble PPV in history with the biggest Royal Rumble match in history and if I had to look at how things turned out I’d make this the main event of that PPV immediately. This match was an excellent bout between a long time veteran and a new brash young gun itching to make his mark and in alot of people’s minds he did. Dolph Ziggler fresh off losing his Intercontinental Championship would not be denied another shot at championship gold as he and alongside his beautiful cougar Vickie Guerrero would use every underhanded trick in the book to make sure that Dolph Ziggler received and walked out champion on this night however they clearly forgot they were dealing with the Rated R Superstar and one of the most devious intelligent minds in the history of the business. As soon as the match began the deck was stacked against Edge as per the rules of Vickie Guerrero if Edge uses his patented spear he would lose the championship and as soon as that bell ring the match went 100 miles per hour as these two guys tore the house down back and forth awesome counters well placed submission holds as well as the Vickie factor playing a role in this match now conspiring against her former husband. The match itself ever seemed to slow down even Dolph was methodically picking apart Edge really showing that he could hang in the main event from a work rate perspective, and the finish to this match comes Edge would contemplate using the spear before Vickie tries to stop him slaps him and she herself gets assaulted by Kelly Kelly as Edge’s eyes begin to bug out the ref is down at this point, the crowd wants to see it they chant SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR! Edge would go on to break Ziggler in half with the spear play dead as the referee gets up Edge realizes he has to put Ziggler away and he hooks him for the Killswitch and the pinfall. An awesome display between 2 of the top workers of this generation.

#9. John Morrison vs The Miz - Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WWE Championship

Raw 1/3/2011

The inaugural match of the new year and boy was it a fucking good one. This was a star making performance for John Morrison as the guy busted his ass to get this match by defeating Sheamus in a brutal ladder match nearly shattering his knee in that one before defeating the Celtic Warrior in one of the best matches of his career only to earn a title shot and go on to make another one of the greatest matches of his career. He would be facing his former friend and longtime partner The Miz a man no one believed would ever reach the top of the mountain but not only did he get there but he got there and would never let John Morrison forget about it. So on this night it was John Morrison’s duty to shut this man up once and for all. John Morrison promised he’d steal the show and he did that the second his music hit the arena and single-handedly looked look a star taking out both the Miz and Alex Riley unleashing a flurry of offense beating them to the top of the WWE logo then proceeded to climb atop that thing and jump off splashing both men. From here on out Morrison was on fire just pummeling Miz and looking like a tough S.O.B. He continued the beating on Miz even made sure A-Ry would not be a problem any longer when he damn near broke his mouth with a running knee atop the barracade. Miz went on to get some offense later in the match Morrison bumped well for him before Morrison got back into this kicked some more ass and got the crowd buzzing wanting him to finish off Miz and he would try to nail the killing blow by putting him through a table in one of the most awesome Starship pain spots I’ve ever seen. Morrison in the midst of putting Miz away crashes and burns as Miz moves. Mis tried a pin but John kicks out still having some fight in him before Miz hits him with the Skull Crushing Finale and ends this barely escaping with his championship. Although Miz performed well in this match too there is no doubt that Jomo was the talk of the night b/c quite frankly if you can have a match like this in which the the loser looks and performs like a champion then how can you not make the top 10 matches of the year?

#8. Raw’s Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship Title Shot at Wrestlemania XXVII

The Elimination Chamber, one of the most innovative multi-man match concepts ever created you can always count on great action in one of these matches that it’s almost academic that this would wind up amongst the best matches of the year. This match was to decide who would be getting a WWE championship match at Wrestlemania and this did not disappoint, well aside from the finish. However this match had great action out of damn near everyone in this match and yet another star making performance from who would you think? Dun Dun DUN! John Morrison ladies and gentlemen began this match alongside former Rival Sheamus and would go on to finish the match in the final 3 competitors and wow the audience his entire tenure there once again using the environment around him to combat his opponents including scaling the chamber and dropping from the ceiling sticking to the chamber walls and pods and just plain kicking ass you can also never count out a CM Punk performance as once again his facial expressions and antics as well as ring performance are always up to par. 6 men entered gave us some damn good action a star making performance and oscar worthy performance and just damn entertaining brutality. The one thing that hurts the match would be how abruptly it ended and how badly this victory sucked the air out of the arena, but aside from that match quality is pretty damn great.

#7. CM Punk vs John Cena - WWE Championship Unification Match

Summerslam

At the biggest show of the Summer the returning outlaw CM Punk would come back repulsed at the sight of John Cena once again holding the WWE Championship a belt Punk referred to as being just a prop because he himself is holding the real WWE championship. Both men lay claim to holding the championship so of course this can only be decided one way a rematch at Summerslam where the winner will become the real undisputed champion. These two would meet on PPV for the second time this year in Los Angeles alongside the COO Triple who would be the special referee for this match. The crowd was hot for CM Punk as they were very vocal about John Cena being the same old shit. These two would go on to once again have a great wrestling match and although the atmosphere was not the same as their last match they still decided to say fuck it, and just wrestle another really good match. Cena shined well more so than he did at the last PPV the submission counters were excellent as well as the offense out of both men, HHH was hardly noticeable aside from the countout spot which was for the better and despite the very lackluster finish designed to protect John Cena the match it self was one of the better wrestling matches of the year. The finish came about when CM Punk drove his knee into Cena’s face and then followed up with a GTS pinning John Cena amid controversy but nonetheless a pinfall. CM Punk would win and become the Undisputed WWE champion as HHH raised his hand before of course all hell broke lose…..

#6. Christian vs Randy Orton - No Holds Barred Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

Summerslam

In their final match on PPV this year a distraught champion Christian who after hearing words from the mouth of his best friend that can only make him feel awful took on Randy Orton one more time. Christian really sold the desperation in this match and Randy Orton was Randy Orton. The match itself is one of the most impressive displays in a one on one match I’ve seen in a long time as Christian throughout the match has made it very apparent that he is just sick and tired as we all probably are of Randy Orton butting into his spotlight as many of the tactics he used in this match including pressing on Orton’s windpipe with a kendo stick and spitting in his face. This was a very enjoyable kick ass street fight between two competitors who quite frankly have never had a bad match against one another and again they would not disappoint Randy Orton of course did much of the brutality as Christian sold for him like a million bucks and Christian would perform like a champion bumping for Orton like that as the match drew to it’s conclusion the way it did so many months ago with a midair RKO but this one would have a little more sauce to it as Christian gets impaled on the steel steps as Orton wins and becomes champion one more time.

#5. Christian vs Alberto Del Rio - Ladder Match for the Vacant World Heavyweight Championship

Extreme Rules

After a sudden injury forced the great Edge to retire and surrender the World Heavyweight Championship the WWE fans felt as if they just got kicked in the stomach as great career came to an end. It was at this moment that the arrogant brash Mexican aristocrat Alberto Del Rio couldn’t help but brag taking credit for the injury that forced him to retire but of course Edge’s best friend had other plans for this jackass. Christian would step up to the plate after winning a battle royal earning Edge’s spot in this ladder match and combat Alberto Del Rio. Both these men had a well known disdain for one another as Alberto holds Christian responsible for not allowing him to fulfill his destiny at Wrestlemania and Christian knows that this is his time to make Edge proud of him as he fulfills a lifelong dream of his own to finally become a world champion in WWE. The match itself was one of the more impressive ladder matches I’ve ever seen as Alberto and Christian would go on to take their toughness to new heights, literally the offense in this match was impressive but pales in comparison to the story being told throughout the match as Christian and Alberto both look like they’ve been in a war both men writhing in pain as one man looks for validation and glory and the other looks for something more important than that. After all the violence begins to die down and Christian looks for victory Alberto isn’t having any of it allowing for his bodyguard Brodus Clay to attempt to stop the valiant Christian but fails as Christian knows he’s so close to something he’s been chasing for his entire career. Alberto manages to crush his dreams seemingly as he climbs the ladder within arms reach of the championship before Edge arrives to the building giving Christian just enough of a distraction for him to tip the ladder and Alberto over to his boys Ricardo and Brodus. The crowd is erupting calling for Christian to climb he does so fingertips on the gold savoring this moment one last time before unhooking it and becoming the champion while his best friend watches him do it and proceeds to come in and hug Christian both men with tears in their eyes, you can’t beat that. Great match, perfect ending, a career defining moment and an emotional moment at the end of the night. Brilliantly done.

#4. Christian vs Randy Orton - World Heavyweight Championship Match

Over The Limit

Unfortunately the brilliance of the last match’s aftermath would only last 2 days as Christian saw his dreams crash down on him in a few mere seconds as Randy Orton struck and stole his World Championship. Christian however would not be denied his opportunity at a rematch as he enforced it at the next PPV and would go on to face Randy Orton for a second time. A determined Christian would lock eyes with the new champion Randy Orton as he knew in his heart he would beat him this time and get back what he worked over 15 years of his life to get. As these two locked horns we knew we would be in for a good one but we had no idea that it would be this good. The counters, the offense, the performance, the defense, the excitement level, the uncertainty, and most of all the the brilliance of how well these men work together was a sight to behold. I can’t even count the amount of times i looked as if Orton had Christian beat or how many times we all thought Christian would win his championship back but one thing I can tell you is how into this match we all were. Randy Orton when you look at it is really the villain of the tale as Christian is the guy who had what was most precious to him wrongfully taken by a man who’s tasted that glory more times than any of us can count but doesn’t care. This is why this match meant so much b/c Christian was wronged and this was his chance to make things right again but sadly on this night it wouldn’t happen as Christian would once again become another of Orton’s victims and lose to an unsuspecting RKO again leaving a man who earned everything he’s ever gotten in defeat as the poison known as Randy Orton chalks up another win just for the fuck of it. One hell of a way for this story to continue.

#3. Smackdown’s Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship

When you think of everything an elimination chamber match should be, sans the blood. This is what we fucking want. In one of the most brilliant displays of PG brutality and wrestling I have ever seen Six Men: Edge, Rey Mysterio, Drew McIntyre, Wade Barrett, Kane and The Big Show stepped into the satanic structure all in the hopes of walking out World Heavyweight Champion and defending that title at Wrestlemania. 4 men were locked away as Edge and Rey Mysterio two of the most decorated champions in the history of this company would begin this match as they would begin any wrestling match including using the chamber to maim before Wade Barrett would enter and unleash some of that Barrage he’s always talking about now. Kane too would create some carnage and Drew McIntyre would tear apart a few bodies. As soon as Big Show hits the ring shit is on. This match kicked into a new gear adding a real sense of importance to the World Championship as nearly everyone in this match went the distance and looked as if they’d go through anything to walk out champion and when you can do that, make people damn near kill themselves over a gold belt you know you’re doing something right. the action was amazing especially the sequence it took to eliminate Big Show the innovation in eliminating Kane who also in this match looked like the monster he once was. It wasn’t until we got to the final two who btw were also the first two Edge and Rey Mysterio that this match sealed it for me. These two guys would proceed to give us quite possibly the greatest finishing encounter in the Chamber’s history as they battled another 5 or 6 minutes hitting each other with everything in their arsenal all for the championship each one enduring more and more pain Rey Mysterio on the verge of winning gets hit by one last desperate spear out of Edge and Edge would retain and be the first person in history to walk into the chamber and start the match as World Heavyweight Champion and walk out as World Heavyweight Champion. History was made amazing performances all around more so from Edge and Mysterio and championship importance was emphasized and because of that you’re damn fucking right this wins the bronze medal.

#2. The Undertaker vs Triple H

Wrestlemania XXVII

In all the years of the WWE the one constant that has remained over the last 20 years is the fact that the Undertaker cannot be stopped at Wrestlemania and tonight would be no different. The Undertaker is the greatest phenom to ever walk into this company and on this night he would face the cerebral assassin Triple H who would claim that he will be the one as all the rest have. The atmosphere could not be better as this was Wrestlemania this is the one night of the year that the Undertaker returns to the event the he has made even more special than Vince Mcmahon could have ever imagined. Triple H’s sole mission was to rid the WWE of The Undertaker’s streak b/c he feels it’s time that the Undertaker is put down. But as you can all imagine this is STILL the Undertaker’s Yard and he’s always said that if you want it you’re gonna have to come kick him out of it. And of course that’s exactly what HHH set out to do on this night dawning white as Metallica brings him out of the shadows the Game Triple H enters the arena and the ring more determined than I’ve ever seen him before the lights go out and we hear that solemn bell toll. The Undertaker who was 18-0 at this time enters the arena as Johnny Cash so appropriately says the words “There ain’t no grave that can hold my body down”. The two lock eyes and quite frankly a war begins as these two men tell a greater story than I ever could The Undertaker on this night reached into a place he’s never had to in order to keep the streak alive and HHH would go on to damn near kill the Undertaker all so that he would be the one. There were times of this match where HHH’s onslaught on the Undertaker would become too much for most people to handle as The Undertaker refused to stay down and die for this man, HHH would more often than not plead for the Undertaker to just stop but of course the Undertaker would tell HHH with his eyes if that’s all he’s got. I can’t even begin to describe the story these two were telling during the match both have different reasons for wanting to win, one man because he feels it’s his duty and he’s not ready to walk into the shadows one last time and the other because he feels it is that time and it’s up to him to make sure that the Phenom finally rests in peace. However with one last gasp the Undertaker hooks Triple H with the Hell’s Gate and refuses to let go no matter how much pain he is in, The Undertaker fights and hangs on to HHH despite having nothing left until he taps out and The Undertaker lives to fight another day, or has he?……

#1. CM Punk vs John Cena - WWE Championship Match

Money In The Bank

On June 27th 2011, CM Punk shocked the world when he would pick up a microphone sit atop the stage and spoke into that microphone and unleash something we have not seen in years. CM Punk went on to get 5 years worth of animosity of his chest towards John Cena towards the Mcmahon’s towards the fans and towards The WWE in and of itself. This would send a shockwave throughout the company and throughout the wrestling world that this renegade CM Punk in the midst of leaving the company would challenge champion and posterboy John Cena and make sure he took the championship with him in his hometown with the defiant crowd in Chicago, Illinois. On this night CM Punk returned home, the crowd firmly behind him and I’m sure this goes without out saying but the wrestling fans were behind him. John Cena makes his way down the ramp and with some of the loudest boo’s I’ve ever heard this was Cena’s first true unofficial test as to whether or not he can truly rise above the hate. This match from a wrestling perspective had a few mishaps but that aside the atmosphere the build the crowd everything surrounding this match and this night cannot be topped by anything else WWE will ever attempt for the remainder of the year. CM Punk wrestled as John Cena kept up with him nicely, the crowd heavily invested in the out come of this match as they reacted to every move performed as if it were a finisher and trust me we had no shortage of finishers. Everyone is on the edge of their seats fearing that every time Cena would go for a pin he’d get a three count and hoping for every time Punk would go for a pin they’d see a pinfall and sigh every time they didn’t get it. Soon John Laurinaitis and Vince Mcmahon would get involved doing everything they can to make sure CM Punk would leave the arena with nothing but another “L” on his record would try to take control of the match and end it himself as his right hand man Johnny Ace would attempt to ring the bell only for John Cena to release his STF and stop him however this would cost Cena as upon re-entering the ring he would be hit with the GTS shot heard around the world and be defeated by the renegade CM Punk as the crowd erupts for this man who has just created a moment that will live in the WWE forever as well as Punk overcoming an attempted cash in and running out of that arena with the championship in his hands surrounded by his people.

And THAT is how you create a fucking list….until next time everyone.

What are your thoughts on President Barack Obama?

He’s a guy who unfortunately took one of the hardest jobs in the world at the worst possible moment. Let’s just get right down to this clusterfuck of a PPV, I’m fucking Ready so…. LET’S DO THIS!!!!!

Alrighty then u know the drill promo video followed by the pyro blast and the first match is up.

Match #1: The Big Boss Man & Bull Buchanan vs The Godfather and D-Lo Brown

Well the first question that I of course asked myself was what in the hell is this doing on the card and not on Heat instead? I’m guessing just a way to get rapper Ice-T on the show to sing Godfather’s new entrance music. But looking past all that I must say The Godfather always knows how to make an entrance. All aboard the HOOOOO Train. Alright let’s just get down to it all things considered this was not a terrible match or even a bad match The crowd is into the action and D-Lo Brown is entertaining as all hell as is the Godfather. A decent back and forth tag match as both teams get plenty of time to shine and much of that offense was well executed. The match ends after a Boss Man Sidewalk slam and Bull hitting one of the best top rope leg drops I’ve ever seen got some major air off that one. Good opening tag match if you look at it for what it was.

Winners: Big Boss Man and Bull Buchanan Match Rating: 2**

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #2: Hardcore Time Limit Battle Royal for the WWF Hardcore Championship

I’m just going to go on record and just say it, this match Fucking Sucked. Aside from a few entertaining parts of it there really is no redeeming qualities about this clusterfuck of a match. It was basically senseless brawling between a bunch of people who would never make it on the card if it weren’t for this goddamn match with a few exceptions of course like Tazz throwing suplexes but the majority of this is ppl brawling and throwing the fakest punches you’ll ever see everyone looking confused as hell trying to find something to do while others just stood watching? You coundn’t have just done a 6 way match or something with people who actually had a right to be on this card? And on top of that the finish was a complete botch as Hardcore Holly smashes a candy jar on Crash and gets the pin despite that he wasn’t supposed to right before the clock expires. This was just pure garbage.

Match Winner: Hardcore Holly via Botch Match Rating: 0*

Spill Rating: A RESOUNDING FAAAAAAAACCKKKKKK YOOOOOOUUUUU!!!!

Match #3: Test & Albert (T&A) w/Trish Stratus vs Al Snow and Steve Blackman

Ok let’s just do this, the match was not good at all guess they must’ve known it would suck and felt it was best to have a mascot dressed as a block of cheese in order to get a “Let’s Go head Cheese” chant going for Blackman and Snow The action for the most part sucked very sloppy I won’t lie. The one saving grace this match had is the fact that Trish Stratus looked so damn sexy on this night I’m not even lying you see her in this outfit you’ll have instant sexual fantasies. But even that wasn’t enough to save this flop of a match these 4 guys just couldn’t work on this night Jim Ross even had to call this match ugly during the match. thankfully it comes to an end after test nails a top rope elbow on Blackman.

Winners: Test and Albert Match Rating: 0***

Spill Rating: FUCK YOU!

Match #4: The Hardy Boyz vs The Dudley Boyz vs Edge & Christian - Triangle Ladder Match for the WWF Team Championships

Let’s just get right down to it and let me say that this match was fucking EXCELLENT, I mean this was truly the era of Tag Team Wrestling in the WWF as arguably WWF’s 3 best tag teams of the attitude Era competed in the first ever 3 way ladder match and boy did it live up to it’s name. The spots in this match were absolutely amazing especially back then when this would be the first time moves like these would have been attempted. This match here dawned a new age of innovation that even the great Shawn Michaels would never have dreamed of doing. It was off the wall non-stop action you have to see to believe and although there was one period where it looked like the match paused it was merely a necessary move to make so that the Dudley’s can introduce tables to this match and kick it into second gear. And of course who can ever forget Jeff Hardy’s swanton bomb from the top of a ladder to Bubba Ray through a table down to the floor. And the finish was so damn creative at using a table to create a bridge that 3 men would stand on before Edge would throw one of those other men off (Matt Hardy) and he and his then brother Christian would stand atop the table and grab the championship belts and win their first tag team championships. The crowd was in awe in what they’ve just witnessed and these 6 men put their bodies on the line to give the fans something special. Kudos to all for this performance.

Winners and new WWF Tag Team Champions: Edge & Christian Match Rating: 4**

Match #5: Terri w/Fabulous Moolah vs The Kat w/Mae Young - Cat Fight

Aside from seeing a little ass out of Terri and Kat let’s just go ahead and not say a whole lot about this crap. Val Venis was special ref Mae and Moolah tried to participate bullshit here bullshit there Terri wins. Who cares it’s just a shame the only one on one encounter of this entire PPV was this Shit.

Winner: Terri Match Rating: 0

Match #6: Too Cool & Chyna vs The Radicalz (Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko) - 6 person tag team match This match is not bad but it also isn’t very good I was just so spent as I couldn’t handle another tag team match by this point. It’s entertaining I’ll give it that mostly due to Too Cool’s dancing antics but there was also some good action although the finish involved Chyna taking on the Radicalz seemingly by herself although her offense was fun to look at from a realism perspective it is too unbelievable. And the finish coming from a sleeper slam to Eddie from Chyna didn’t help this match’s case.

Winners: Too Cool & Chyna Match Rating: 2

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #7: Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho vs Kurt Angle - Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental and European Championships

Alright I’m just going to go ahead an d say this was one of the more underwhelming matches on the card, one of many. However this match by wrestling standards was a good triple threat 2 falls match but nothing too spectacular as you would expect more out of these three although I will admit this being a midcard match as opposed to a main event match kept this one from being a classic, but nonetheless I was never bored with this match you get some good wrestling/action sequences a few nifty moves the first fall came about where Chris Benoit pins Jericho following a diving head-butt to become the new I.C. champion and the second fall came after Jericho nails a fallenBenoit with the Lionsault ergo Kurt Angle loses both his championship belts w/out ever being pinned and although I was never bored, also nothing lit my world on fire as this was a basic triple threat match a good one but underwhelming and also featured referee Tim White’s second major botch of the night. However considering all three of these men were making their Mania debut’s I say this is a win for all of them. Good start.

Winner of fall #1 and new Intercontinental Champion : Chris Benoit

Winner of fall #2 and new European Champion: Chris Jericho

Match #8: D-X (X-Pac & Road Dogg) w/Tori vs Kane w/Paul Bearer and Rikishi

Another fucking tag team match Jesus Christ you can’t expect anyone to be hyped about this match by this point. First off this is the night the X-Pac/Kane match should have happened but of course this match was only made in order to fill space and to plug D-X’s new themesong and give WWF an excuse to have Kane out there to do the annual Pete Rose/Kane segment the match couldn’t have gone more than 4 mins as Kane pins X-Pac and although what they did in those 4 mins was entertaining it had no place at Wrestlemania as the post match segment lasted longer than the match involving Too Cool coming out for the post match dance featuring the Gobbelty Gooker and Kane chokeslamming Pete Rose followed by a stink face and Paul Bearer doing the D-X crotch chop. This was all over the place all for the purpose of getting some media exposure with the finishing segment JR’s “This is a Sports Center moment if I ever saw one” line proved that.

Winners: Kane and Rikishi Match Rating: 1

Spill Rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit (low) on the verge of a Fuck You however it was short and didn’t anger me when I watched it the first time.

Match #9 and Main Event: Fatal 4 Way match for the WWF Championship

Mick Foley w/ Linda Mcmahon vs The Big Show w/ Shane Mcmahon vs The Rock w/ Vince Mcmahon vs Triple H w/ Stephanie Mcmahon-Helmsley

First off let me just go on record and say what we’re all thinking, this is NOT the match that should have happened on this night and this is NOT the way this show should have ended. But let’s put all that aside and talk about the match I will give a more detailed synopsis for this one. The match started off as any Fatal 4 Way would before one man began to dominate in this Case Big Show started mowing these guys down in the early going really looking strong before the other 3 men teamed up to slow the big man down and they did take him down in a nice sequence before we had our first bout of outside interference by Shane-O-Mac which backfired and resulted in a chair shot to Big Show, Rock Bottom and the pinfall. Not a fan of how early the elimination was but i understood why they did it I just felt if should’ve taken a little more to put Big Show down and I was clearly not a fan of all this Mcmahon drama bullshit going on the whole time. We then got a brief Rock n’ Sock reunion as Triple H became the victim of a 2 on 1 attack. After a while we would get some entertaining triple threat action involving a few weapons I won’t lie and say I was getting into it. More good stuff happened for a bit just wish they didn’t focus on the Mcmahon’s at ringside at all and then Foley declares he wants him and HHH to be the guys to finish this and they proceed to double team the Rock which makes no sense considering if Foley wanted this so badly why in the hell did he team with Rock earlier to try and eliminate HHH? But whatever this had the crowd for the most part turn on Foley another reason why this was stupid don’t make the sentimental favorite look like a heel. Then we go on as Rock as placed on the announce table Foley goes up to the second rope and dives to smash Rock with an Elbow only to hit the table hard missing Rock botching the spot entirely so HHH had to make up for it by getting up on a closer spot twice and finish the spot Foley couldn’t putting Rock through the table. Not very pretty I know, HHH would soon drag Foley back in the ring hit him with a chair and try a few pin attempts but Foley would kick out refusing to die before a last pedigree on the chair finishes Foley off for good. The crowd gives the fallen Foley a standing ovation as he walks out, before returning for one last shot as he nails HHH dead with the barbed wire wrapped 2 by 4. Well let’s just get to the end as we get the match that should have happened The Rock vs HHH the final 2 men unfortunately the first part of this exchange would involve brawling in the crowd and the 2nd part would involve weapon brawling as opposed to having these two wrestle even though I did enjoy HHH pile driving Rock on the steel steps and Jim Ross of course on commentary selling that spot. We would get more crowd brawling one of my biggest pet peeves we get another neat table spot. And this is where the match went downhill as Vince attack HHH then this is where we the match would be paused all so that Shane O Mac and Vince Mcmahon can have a little bitch fight. Shane hits Vince with a TV monitor. Vince would no sell a monitor shot to the head and get up to beat up Shane before Shane would hit Vince in the head with the chair, yeah I know who cares? Focus on the title match with the wrestlers. Shane eventually tries to get involved in the match again Vince would come back take his son out and Vince bloody teases hitting HHH with the chair only to clobber and betray The Rock and that’s where I just had enough as a second chair shot and pedigree would put away the Rock. This was a decent match could have been alot better if all that Mcmahon bullshit didn’t happen and another thing if Vince was gonna turn on Rock anyways why attack HHH earlier? Rock could’ve capitalized on that attack and won giving Vince exactly what he didn’t want, this match did not please me and also it screwed the Rock completely out of his Wrestlemania moment he should have had as champion that year all for the purpose of pushing a Mcmahon family Drama storyline and swerving us. Fuck This Match.

Winner and still WWF champion: Triple H via Bullshit! Match Rating: 2** but keep in mind this is a WM main event with over 25+ mins worth of time.

Well there it was ladies and gentlemen aside from one amazing match the rest of the night if it wasn’t mediocrity it was just plain bullshit. What a giant clusterfuck of a show.
Match #1: European Champion Kurt Angle vs Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho - Singles match for the I.C. Championship

Prior to the match Kurt Angle goes on to insult Connecticut in a very backhanded kind of way. Chyna soon follows as it looks like she’s going to be ringside for this. Jericho comes out to a nice reception cuts and Anti-Angle Promo and here we go. This was a really good straight up wrestling match, I loved exactly how back and forth the action was some good suplexes from Kurt Angle some nifty moves out of Chris Jericho. Angle wrestling his straight wrestling style and Jericho wrestling the more HBK catches catch can style. Chyna had no role in this till the end where she would inadvertently get knocked into the steel steps after attempting to stop Angle from cheating. Angle looks like a clever heel as the finish comes when Jericho attempts to win this match with the Lionsault and while the ref attends to Chyna Angle clobbers Jericho in the face with the European championship belt as he came down with the Lionsault. Gets the Pin the Win and becomes the Intercontinental champion.

Winner and new I.C. Champion: Kurt Angle Match Rating: 3*

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #2: DX- New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg & Billy Gunn) vs The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray & D-Von) Tag Team Match for the WWF Tag Team Championships

Fun little tag team match as the New Age Outlaws can always pump up the crowd with their signature Tag Team Champions of the WOOOOOOOORRRLLLLLDDDD speech. The action was very basic but I was never bored watching this match. Good basic tag team wrestling out of two really good teams. JR’s anti Dudley’s commentary was also Hilarious Billy Gunn after the Hot tag was really good. The finish comes after Bubba behind the ref’s (Teddy Long) backnails Billy in the arm with a lead pipe and comes in to deliver the 3D to Road Dogg as D-von gets the cover and the win.Decent Tag match, nothing special but well booked.

Winners and New Tag team Champions: The Dudley Boyz Match Rating: 2*

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #3: “Sexual Chocolate” Mark Henry vs Viscera

I took a shot of tequila before watching this match just in case, but let’s just break it down. let’s just keep this short this was not a terrible match thankfully the fact that it was kept short helped, some good Semi Truck like Big Man violence although I do question Viscera’s blatant use of the steel steps and the ref didn’t DQ him. The camera blacked out as we had technical difficulties probably a blessing in disguise b/c Mae Young Attempted a Run in Viscera attempts to splash her and her baby again but Mark Henry stops him with a shoulder block and ends this with a weak body slam for a pinfall. But I won’t complain about the weak finish b/c quite frankly it’s a good thing this match ended quickly.

Winner: Mark Henry Match Rating: 1**

Spill Rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit (High)

Match #4: The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) w/Terri vs Edge and Christian #1 Contenders Match

I’ll just get right down to it this was a very enjoyable really nicely paced and well booked Tag Team match The Acolytes were ringside providing the storyline of Terri hiring them for protection. Back to the match the Hardy’s and E&C always delivered during this tag team rivalry. It was cool to see Matt Hardy showing some heel tactics in taunting Christian alot of great offense from both teams nothing to hate about this match really. Perfect amount of time each team had a period of control in this match. Each team getting in a hot tag for a flurry of offense. The commentary of course was very entertaining as well as Jim Ross calling the action made it better. The match paused in all the right places for wear down submissions and such. the best stuff of course came at the end when The Hardy’s start kicking ass and their various offensive moves had the crowd pumped and Edge’s mid-air spear to jeff was really sweet. The finish comes as Jeff sets up for the Swanton and Terri turns on the Hardy’s when she shoves Jeff off the top rope, slaps Matt Hardy and gets hit with the Unprettier by Christian for the pinfall.

Winners and #1 Contenders: Edge and Christian Match Rating 3**

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #5: Big Boss Man w/Prince Albert vs Tazz

Well I’ll just go ahead and say this match sucked, why this would be booked on PPV I will never know but of course it was a way to get newcomer Tazz on PPV again for some exposure. The match began like a brawl as you would expect. It wasn’t long before Albert interfered on Boss Man’s behalf and force a DQ after ward there was a post match beatdown on Tazz I personally would’ve had Tazz choke Boss Man out to put his Tazzmission over some more and THEN done the beating but NO.

Winner: Tazz via DQ Match Rating: 0**

Spill Rating: F*CK YOU!

Match #6: X-Pac w/Tori vs Kane w/Paul Bearer No Holds Barred

This match was the culmination of the X-Pac/Kane story. X-Pac betrays Kane and on top of that steals Kane’s girlfriend Tori this was a very heated storyline one I though really worked and felt it should have been decided at Wrestlemania but again nope instead we get it at No Way Out. Now that’s not to say it was a bad match because it wasn’t it was actually a decent No Holds Barred match with X-pac playing his role very nicely as he clearly stands no chance in hell straight up against a man twice his size tries to escape even tries to climb up the No Way Out set to get away. Some decent brawling and use of a weapon or two. Crowd is into this very much so. Paul Bearer and Tori even get involved and I had to LOL at Bearer running after Tori and the tombstone on Tori got a great reaction as well. A fun little match I felt should’ve been saved for later but nonetheless not a bad watch. Match ends rather shockingly as Xpac dropkicks Kane while holding the steps and uses them to keep him down for the three count.

Winner: X-Pac Match Rating: 2**

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #7: Too Cool & Rikishi vs The Radicalz (Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn) w/ Eddie Guerrero

A fun 6 man tag match, Rikishi came in with a taped up left ankle Eddie tries to interfere at the start but gets his already dislocated elbow smashed with a steel pipe by Rikishi. There was alot of good back and forth from both teams and you can always count on Too Cool’s mid match dancing to pump up the crowd. Very nice heel work outta the Radicalz especially when they attacked Rikishi’s left ankle. Frequent tags ergo letting everyone shine match has a very exciting last few minutes Rikishi looked like a monster finishing off Malenko with the Banzai Drop and selling the ankle upon landing. Real good filler match.

Winners: Rikishi & Too Cool Match Rating: 3

Spill Rating: Matinee

Match #8: The Rock vs The Big Show #1 Contenders match

This was an ok match a little less entertaining than you would expect Big Show basicaly dominated the majority of the match as he should after stopping Rock’s offense at the beginning and from then it was just ok, although there are some things that really pissed me off. For one Big Show grabs a chair and tries to strike Rock in the head with it in plain sight of the referee, I mean is Big Show stupid? This is for a title shot a DQ would kill your dreams and also is Rock stupid for moving? If he hits you he loses and you go to Mania. And here’s one more thing? The ref Earl Hebner takes a bump so Tim White comes in to make the count after Big Show chokeslams Rock he counts to two and Hebner pulls Tim White out of the ring and both refs begin to brawl with one another. I mean WTF? Why is there ref drama when this shit happens isn’t it known amongst them that if they get knocked down another referee will come down in the event of a pin attempt? Are the refs morons to be getting in fights for following protocol? But whatever the action was solid but poorly booked the finsih comes when Rock attempts the people’s elbow and Shane Mcmahon grabs a chair and nails Rock right between the eyes Big Show pins Rock and wins and is going to Wrestlemania. A Decent match a shocking swerve but alot angered me.

Winner and #1 Contender: Big Show Match Rating: 2

Spill Rating: Rental (low)

Match #9 and Main Event: Triple H w/ Stephanie Mcmahon-Helmsley vs Cactus Jack - Hell In a Cell Match for the WWF Championship

I’ll just go on record and say the story behind this match was fucking excellent one of the best builds in WWF history. Foley’s career on the line for HHH’s WWF championship on the line. This wasn’t as good to me as their match at the Royal Rumble but still a pretty damn brutal match. HHH was vicious at the start just beating the hell out of Foley and Foley too performed great really looking like one tough son of a bitch running right at HHH even though he was armed even begging for HHH to hit him again.Match picked up as soon as Foley cut HHH open and used the Cell very nicely to open up that wound some more Foley’s spot which he dove off the second rope with a chair in hand to a bloody HHH was sweet. Foley tossed the steps toward HHH who moves and winds up busting the cage although I will admit Foley running at the cell and busting through it to get out looked pretty stupid even though I know why he did it. The second both men climb to the top I know shit was gonna get serious especially when Foley gets knocked off while climbing and into the announce table. Foley however gets up and climbs atop again people are stunned goes up there and battles HHH even looks like both men may get tossed off the top. They battle up there for a bit very careful before Foley lights the barbed wire wrapped 2 by 4 on fire and nails HHH kinda with it. The finish comes as Foley attempts to Piledrive HHH on top of the fire and the cell but HHH flips him over and Foley crashes through the Cell and breaks a hole in the ring. Takes a while for HHH to get down and call for a win but Foley starts moving again and this is where the storytelling is at it’s best. Foley Still trying to get back up and keep his career alive and Jim Ross on commentary just sells the shit out of this. HHH pummels him as Foley continues to move before ending this with a match ending pedigree. Foley’s career is over while HHH celebrates a bloody mess with the title. Great match not one of my favorite Hell In a Cell Matches but a great match nonetheless Jim Ross’ commentary and Stephanie McMahon’s facial expressions really added to it.

Winner and Still WWF Champion: Triple H Match Rating 4

Well there you have it People spent the whole damn day watching this show but I actually enjoyed it a good wrestling PPV for the most part certainly that Main Event is worth a watch. Until next time I will return with my Wrestlemania 2000 PPV review which will w/out a doubt break the record for Fuck You Ratings. ;)

Overall PPV rating: 8/10 Spill Rating: Full Price (low)

Phenom's PPV Marathon: Royal Rumble 2000 Review

Well it’s been a long ass time since the last time I blogged mainly because my cpu fucked my Chris Jericho blog. But let’s not dwell on that instead I’m going to go back to my reviewing ways and go on a PPV marathon just for the hell of it.

So…Are You Ready? Cuz I’m Ready LET’S DO THIS!!!!!!!

Match #1: Kurt Angle vs Tazz

This match is actually dubbed Kurt Angle vs Mystery Opponent and therefore prior to the match Kurt Angle came out and cut a promo talking about how he’s undefeated then insulting the New York Knicks and talking himself and his accomplishments up before Tazz’s music hits and he makes his WWE debut. The match itself however can be classified as a glorified squash match but a good one IMO. This match started off fast with both men taking it to the outside Kurt Angle nailing a few moves the crowd really behind Tazz as he’s getting a great reaction and the Top Rope TazzPlex was a pretty neat spot Tazz really showcasing his suplexing and follows up with the Tazzmission as Kurt Angle passes out and Tazz wins via Submission. Not a great or even a good match but an exciting short match designed to put Tazz and his Tazzmission over.

Winner: Tazz Match Rating: 1***

Spill Rating: Rental (Low)

Match #2: The Hardy Boyz vs The Dudley Boyz Tag Team Tables Match

This was a really good tag team table match the first tag team table match in fact it coundn’t have gone longer than 11 mins. But these 4 guys really made the most of the time they were given and gave us a kick ass match. The hardy’s even introduced Ladders and Chairs to the match making it I guess the first unofficial TLC encounter alot of fast paced action, cool table smashes and really amazing spots alot of which were new at that time. The best stuff came around the end when these guys are really taking the action t dangerous heights literally in which Jeff Hardy drops Bubba Ray through 4 tables off the high ledge Jeff would then finish off the match by jumping off that very ledge and delivering a swanton bomb to D-von through a table for the victory.

Winners: The Hardy Boyz Match Rating: 3*

Spill Rating: Matinee

*Blocks Out The Miss Rumble Swimsuit Contest* Let’s just Move On…

Match #3: Chris Jericho vs Chyna vs Hardcore Holly Triple Threat Match for The Intercontinental Championship.

The story behind the match is the fact that Chyna and Chris Jericho are the Co-Holders if the Intercontinental Championship but it would come to an end tonight. This match was really nothing special just a way to finally end the co holders storyline. There would be a couple of ok exchanges however i won’t lie Chyna being in this match really hurt it significantly. Although her handspring elbow and Superplex on Holly got a nice pop. The crowd is firmly behind Jericho the match ends when Chyna has Holly in the Walls of Jericho but Jericho would stop her by nailing a running bulldog and hitting the Lionsault on her for the Pinfall and the win.

Winner: Chris Jericho Match Rating: 2

Spill Rating: Rental

Match #4: The Acolytes-APA (Farooq and Bradshaw) vs DX-The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn)

This match wasn’t good at all, it must’ve gone 3 or 4 mins if that as The Acolytes come out the gate swinging at these guys getting the early advantage a min or two later Bradshaw Hits the Clothesline from Hell on Billy Gunn and Farooq nails the Spinebuster on Road Dogg The ref takes a bump and as the APA have the match won X-Pac of DX interferes and nails Bradshaw with a spinning heel kick and Billy Gunn nails the Fame Asser on Bradshaw and gets the pinfall. Fun little brawl but didn’t last long enough to be good.

Winner: The New Age Outlaws Match Rating: 1**

Spill Rating: Some Ol’ Bullshit

Match #5: Cactus Jack vs Triple H - Street Fight for the WWF Championship

This match was fucking excellent for lack of better words. Arguably the best match of both men’s careers. At the start of this year HHH was the man, he was on his game and Mick Foley Cactus Jack Dude Love Mankind whatever you wanna call him is a big reason for why that is. This match had it all (well aside from actual technical wrestling but who needs that? LOL) This was a street fight and a damn brutal one. These two guys beat the living hell out of each other all over the place for a long time, This match told a brilliant story Mick Foley bringing out Cactus Jack in order to beat HHH and HHH while as slimy and villainous as he is he proved in this match he can also be as tough as anyone in this business. This match soon became bloody incorporating Foley’s favorite 2 by 4 wrapped in Barbed Wire including a spot in which Cactus Jack is handcuffed and HHH just has his way with him the way any heel would. We were even given a run in by The Rock as he nailed HHH in the face with a Chair and by the end we got to the very dangerous thumbtacks which made this match at times uncomfortable to watch as a youngster. Foley kicked out of a pedigree which had the crowd erupt at how tough Foley looked that even after all that he’s willing to go through more all for the WWF title and boy did he go through more as the final spot was one of the most unsafe brutal spots I’ve ever seen as HHH pedigreed Foley right on top of the thumbtacks which finally got him the 3 count as he retains his championship.

Winner: Triple H Match Rating: 4*

Spill Rating: Full Price

Match #6 and Main Event: Royal Rumble Match

I’m just gonna go on record and say this has got to be one of the worst Rumble matches I’ve ever seen as it was packed full of jobbers although Keintai illegally interfering in this match due to anger at not being in the Rumble only to get tossed out numerous times did make me laugh. Although Rikishi shined very well in this match eliminating a number of competitors and looking like a monster. However the fact that Too Cool danced during a Goddamn match annoyed the crap out of me although it was a way to waste time and the crowd liked it. A brief performance by Chris Jericho and Edge. This match didn’t get good ever to me but The Rock coming in helped the crowd wake up at the mediocre action they were witnessing. Big Show and Kane would soon follow as the fat would be trimmed considerably. Let’s just get to the finish shall we? Final 4 would be X-Pac Kane The Rock and The Big Show. X-pac eliminating Kane was a shocker though and a pretty sweet heel kick to do it was cool. X pac would soon get tossed out and The finish came at Big Show preparing to throw Rock out but Rock would use Show’s own momentum as they both go over the top Rock skins the cat and re enters the ring as Big Show falls on the floor and the Rock is your winner despite his feet hitting the floor in a botched ending. But nonetheless the Rock wins and he’s going to Mania heading possibly to another crappy match.

Winner: The Rock Match Rating: 1

Spill Rating: F*CK YOU!
